The training was held from 24th to 27th March 2026, at the Renuka City Hotel. This opportunity was facilitated through the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka, enabling the General Secretary of YMCA of Pamunugama to take part in this important experience.
The programme focused on three Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) modules, targeting: Women and girls, Men and boys, The wider community. Through interactive sessions, practical tools, and group discussions, participants gained valuable knowledge and skills to address harmful social norms, promote gender equality, and strengthen community-based responses to GBV.
At the conclusion of the programme, YMCA of Pamunugama was also provided with the opportunity to apply for a small grant under this initiative. This opens a pathway for the YMCA to further expand its work in preventing GBV and promoting safer, more inclusive communities.
