Minoli from Pamunugama on the Tensing Stage

Visiting Tensing Norway group consist on 25 youth had their main show at Dehiwela YMCA grounds on 16 March 2014. Youth group from Pamunugama YMCA also were present to witness the event while Minoli, a member of the Girl Guides and Children's Club performed the welcome dance on the big stage.

Youth working with the Y Garden

Pamunugama youth have started to develop the YMCA garden as a part of the Pre School Development Project of the YMCA of Pamunugama. Youth along with the staff spend the entire night yesterday 04 March, 2014 at the YMCA working with the garden. They first leveled the garden and then started planting grass.

Training for School Prefects at Peralanda St. Joseph School

Prefects Training Programmes has a significant place in the YMCA of Pamiunugama activity list. This is a very good way for the YMCA to meat leaders at school level and to train them to become good leaders.
Pamunugama YMCA conducts several Prefect Training Programmes per year and first of this year has been the programme held for the Prefects at Peralanda St. Joseph Junior Secondary School.

Objective of the programme was to train a group of students leaders who could support the school administration and the students to function the school smoothly. Theme "Leadership" was discussed from different perspectives.  While the leadership skill training was given through various leadership and games. 32 students attended the event and 5 leaders of the YMCA of Pamunugama attended to facilitate the event. Event ended with a colorful campfire.

Communicative English Camp

4 month communicative English programme of the YMCA of Pamunugama came to an end on 27th February, 2014 with an English Day camp for the course participants and the senior members of the Children's Club of the YMCA of Pamunugama.

Camp was organized to practically evaluate the outcome of the programme as well as to give confidence to the children to use English. All the activities, games of the camp were conducted in English and children showed a great enthusiasm in participating the event.

We thank Come-Share Foundation for supporting the YMCA of Pamunugama during last four months to successfully conduct the Communicative English Programme.
