තරුණ ස්වේච්ඡා නායකත්ව පුහුණු වැඩසටහන – 2026

තරුණ ස්වේච්ඡා නයකයන්ගේ කුසලතා සහ නායකත්ව ධාරිතාව ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සඳහා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාව මඟින් අධියර තුනකින් යුතු පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් මාලාකක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදි.

• ​V1 – ව්‍යාපෘති කළමනාකරණය (Project Management): ජුනි මාසයේදී මාර්ගගත ක්‍රමයට (Online) සැසි තුනකින් යුතුව පවත්වන ලදී. ජාතික සභාවේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් වන නිරංග ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා විසින් මෙහෙයවන ලද මෙම පුහුණුව මඟින් ව්‍යාපෘති කළමනාකරණයේ ප්‍රධාන සංකල්ප සහ ප්‍රායෝගික ප්‍රවේශයන් පිළිබඳව සහභාගී වන්නන් හඳුන්වා දෙන ලදී.

• ​V2 – අරමුදල් රැස්කිරීම (Fundraising): ජූලි මාසයේදී සැසි හතරකින් යුත් මාර්ගගත වැඩසටහනක් ලෙස අරුණ ශාන්ත නොනිස් මහතාගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් පැවැත්විණි. තරුණ මූලිකත්වයෙන් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ප්‍රයත්නවල සාර්ථකත්වය සඳහා අත්‍යවශ්‍ය අරමුදල් රැස්කිරීමේ දැනුම සහ ප්‍රායෝගික කුසලතා කෙරෙහි මෙහිදී අවධානය යොමු කෙරිණි.

• ​V3 – තරුණ ස්වේච්ඡා නායකත්වය (Youth Volunteer Leadership): V1 සහ V2 සාර්ථකව අවසන් කළ තරුණ තරුණියන් වෙනුවෙන් අවධි අදියර වන V3 වැඩසටහන 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 12 සහ 13 යන දිනවල පවත්වන ලදී. නිරංග ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා සහ ආචාර්ය ඇලෙක්ස් පෙරේරා මහතා විසින් මෙහෙයවන ලද මෙම දින දෙකක වැඩසටහනට නායකත්වය, YMCA පරිපාලනය (Governance) සහ YMCA හි අනාගතය හැඩගැස්වීමේදී තරුණ තරුණියන්ගේ කාර්යභාරය කෙරෙහි අවධානය යොමු කළ ආකර්ෂණීය සාකච්ඡා සහ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ඇතුළත් විය.

​මීගමුව, පමුණුගම, මහනුවර, නුගේගොඩ සහ අම්පාර YMCA නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණ ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයන් 11 දෙනෙක් V3 සඳහා සහභාගී වූහ.

​තරුණු ස්වේච්ඡා නායකත්ව පුහුණු වැඩසටහනේ අදියර තුනම සාර්ථකව අවසන් කළ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ  මිනද, රයිනි සහ සදරු හට අපගේ සුභපැතුම් එක්කරමු.

​YMCA ව්‍යාපාරය තුළ වැඩි නායකත්වයක් සහ වගකීමක් භාර ගැනීමට තරුණ තරුණියන් සවිබල ගැන්වීම සඳහා මෙම වැඩසටහන තවත් වැදගත් පියවරක් සනිටුහන් කරයි.

Youth Volunteer Leadership Training Programme – 2026

Under the youth programmes for the year 2026 the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka organized a Volunteer Leadership Training Programme as a three-stage learning journey designed to strengthen the skills and leadership capacities of young volunteers.

Volunteer 2 (V1) Training – Project Management was conducted online in June as a three-session programme, facilitated by Mr. Niranga Fernando, NGS of NCY. The training introduced participants to key concepts and practical approaches to project management.

Volunteer 2 (V2) – Fundraising followed in July as a four-session online programme facilitated by Mr. Aruna Shantha Nonis, focusing on fundraising knowledge and practical skills essential for successful youth-led initiatives.

The final stage, Volunteer 3 (V3) – Youth Volunteer Leadership, was held on 12th and 13th September 2026 for youth who successfully completed V1 and V2. Facilitated by Mr. Niranga Fernando and Dr. Alex Perera, the two-day programme included engaging discussions and activities focused on leadership, YMCA governance, and the role of young people in shaping the future of the YMCA.

A total of 11 young volunteers from the Negombo, Pamunugama, Kandy, Nugegoda, and Ampara YMCAs participated in V3.

Special recognition goes to Minanda, Raini, and Sadaru, who successfully completed all three stages of the Youth Volunteer Leadership Training Programme representing the YMCA of Pamunugama.

The programme marks another important step in empowering young people to take greater leadership and responsibility within the YMCA movement.

Empowering the Next Generation: Youth Action to Prevent GBV in Sri Lanka

YMCA of Pamunugama and the YMCA of Negombo, in partnership with the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka recently hosted a comprehensive two-session training program engaging 42 young people under the Youth Action to Prevent GBV Project. Held on August 30 and September 5, the initiative brought together a diverse group of participants representing the Sri Vimukthi Youth Group, SYU, Shramabhimani, and both local YMCAs. 

The first session laid a crucial foundation by exploring basic concepts of gender, sex, and related topics through interactive study sessions, dynamic group presentations, and engaging hands-on activities designed to spark critical thinking and open dialogue among the participants.

Building upon this foundational knowledge, the second session delved directly into Gender-Based Violence (GBV), helping participants deeply understand the issue and its societal impacts using an insightful "GBV tree" model to visualize root causes, manifestations, and consequences. 

To measure the tangible impact of these workshops, facilitators implemented pre- and post-evaluations, which impressively revealed that the overall knowledge level of the attendees surged from 50% to 78%. 

At the conclusion of the program, all young people who successfully completed both sessions were awarded certificates of participation to recognize their dedication and commitment to creating safer communities.

Building on this momentum, organizers and participants mutually agreed to conduct further training sessions as the project continues to expand its reach and depth in the coming months. By equipping these young leaders with the right tools, knowledge, and collaborative spaces, the initiative is laying a strong groundwork for sustainable advocacy and a future free from gender-based violence.

ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම් වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීම සඳහා තරුණ පරපුර සවිබල ගැන්වීම

පමුණුගම සහ මීගමුව තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් (YMCA), ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ (NCYSL) හවුල්කාරීත්වයෙන්, ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම් වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීමේ තරුණ මැදිහත්වීම ව්‍යාපෘතිය (Youth Action to Prevent GBV Project) යටතේ තරුණ තරුණියන් 42 දෙනෙකුගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් මෑතකදී දින දෙකක පුහුණු සැසි දෙකක් පවත්වන ලදී. 

අගෝස්තු 30 සහ සැප්තැම්බර් 5 යන දිනවල පැවැත්වුණු මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා ශ්‍රී විමුක්ති තරුණ කණ්ඩායම, SYU, ශ්‍රමභිමානී සහ මීගමුව සහ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් නියෝජනය කරමින් විවිධ පරාසයක තරුණ පිරිසක් එක්වූහ. 

විචාරවත්ස හ විවෘත සංවාද ඇති කිරීම සඳහා නිර්මාණය කරන ලද අන්තර්ක්‍රියාකාරී අධ්‍යයන සැසි, කණ්ඩායම් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් හරහා ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය, ලිංගිකත්වය සහ ඒ ආශ්‍රිත මූලික සංකල්ප ගවේෂණය කරමින් පළමු සැසිය පවත්වන ලදී.  

මෙම මූලික දැනුම මත පදනම් වෙමින්, දෙවන සැසිය මඟින් ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම් වූ හිංසනය (GBV) පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කළ අතර, එහි මූල හේතු, ප්‍රකාශනයන් සහ ප්‍රතිවිපාක තේරුම් ගැනීම සඳහා "GBV වෘක්ෂය" භාවිතා කරමින් මෙම ගැටළුව සහ එහි සමාජීය බලපෑම් ගැඹුරින් අවබෝධ කර ගැනීමට සහභාගී වූවන්ට හැකි විය.

මෙම වැඩමුළුවල සැබෑ බලපෑම මැන බැලීම සඳහා පූර්ව සහ පසු ඇගයීම් පත්‍රිකාවක් භාවිතා කරන ලද අතර, ඒ අනුව සහභාගී වූවන්ගේ සමස්ත දැනුම් මට්ටම 50% සිට 78% දක්වා කැපී පෙනෙන ලෙස වර්ධනය වී ඇති බව තහවුරු විය. සැසි දෙකම සාර්ථකව අවසන් කළ සියලුම තරුණ තරුණියන්ට සහභාගීත්ව සහතික පත්‍ර ප්‍රදානය කරන ලදී. 

මෙම ප්‍රගතිය මත පදනම් වෙමින්, ඉදිරි මාසවලදී ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ඔස්සේ පුහුණු සැසි පැවැත්වීමට සංවිධායකයින් සහ සහභාගී වූවන් එකඟතාවයකට පැමිණියහ.

එක්ව අත්නොහැර - තෙදින බාලදල්ෂ කඳවුර

අගෝස්තු 14 සිට 16 දක්වා, YMCA බාලදක්ෂ සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් 25 දෙනෙකු, මකාලෝසා සිහිනය (Makalause Dream) සාමාජිකයන් 12 දෙනෙකු, කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය, තරුණ නායක නායිකාවන් සහ දෙමාපියන් ඇතුළු මුළු සහභාගී වන්නන් 50 දෙනෙකු එකතු කරමින් "එක්ව අත්නොහැර" (Leaving No One Behind) කඳවුර සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදී.

පළමු දිනය සූදානම් වීම් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් කිහිපයකින්  සමන්විත වූ අතර, සියලු දෙනා එකතු වී කඳවුරු භූමිය තැනීම, ආහාර පිසීම සහ පිරිසිදු කිරීම සිදු කළහ. කඳවුරු ගී ගායනා කිරීම, කඳවුරු නැටුම ඉගෙන ගැනීම, ගෘහස්ථ ක්‍රීඩා සහ කැරම් ක්‍රීඩා කිරීම, කඳවුරු බැනරයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීම සහ දිනය අවසන් කිරීමට පෙර චිත්‍රපටයක් නැරඹීම මගින් පළමු දිනය අවසන් විය. 

අමලුනා රිසෝට් (Amaluna Resort) හි උදෑසන පිහිනුම් තටාක සවාරියක්, ප්‍රජා සේවා වැඩ, බිත්ති පුවත්පත නිර්මාණය කිරීම සහ සියලු කණ්ඩායම් අතර මිත්‍රත්වය තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කළ සන්ධ්‍යා කණ්ඩායම් ක්‍රීඩා සමඟින් දෙවන දිනය ද උද්යෝගයෙන් ගෙවී ගියේය. අපගේ අවසන් දිනය වන අගෝස්තු 16 වෙනි දින, සහභාගී වන්නන් භූමිය හොඳින් පිරිසිදු කළ අතර, සියලු දෙනා සතුටින් මෙම දින තුනේ වික්‍රමාන්විතය අවසන් කරන ලදී. විනෝදයට සහ ක්‍රීඩාවට එහා ගිය මෙම කඳවුර, සැබෑ අන්තර්කරණය පෝෂණය කිරීම, සමාජ බාධක බිඳ දැමීම සහ YMCA හා මාකලෝසා සිහිනය නියෝජනය කළ දරු දැරියන් අතර ගැඹුරු අන්‍යෝන්‍ය ගෞරවයක් ගොඩනැංවීම තුළින් ගැඹුරු බලපෑමක් ඇති කළේය.

මෙම කඳවුර අතිශයින් සාර්ථක කර ගැනීම සඳහා උද්යෝගයෙන් හා කැපවීමෙන් දායක වූ, බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන්, කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය, තරුණ නායක නායිකාවන් සහ දෙමාපියන් ඇතුළු සියලුම සහභාගී වන්නන් 50 දෙනා වෙත අපගේ හෘදයාංගම කෘතඥතාව පුද කරමු. 

එපමණක් නොව, 'මාකලෝසා සිහිනය 2026' අරමුදල් හරහා මෙම කඳවුර යථාර්ථයක් කර ගැනීමට අනුග්‍රහය දැක්වූ බ්‍රොනොයිසුන්ඩ් හි YMCA YWCA බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමය අපගේ විශේෂ ස්තූතිය පුද කරමු. අඛණ්ඩ හවුල්කාරිත්වය සහ පරිත්‍යාගශීලීත්වය ඔස්සේ කිසිදු අයෙකු අතනොහැරීමේ අපගේ මෙහෙවර ඉදිරියටත් සාර්ථකව ක්‍රියාවට නංවාගත හැකි බව මෙයින් මනාව පැහැදිලි වේ.

Leaving No One Behind: Unity, Adventure, and Inclusion at Our 3-Day Scout Camp

From August 14 to 16, 2026, our community came together for the "Leaving No One Behind" Inclusive Scout Camp, uniting 25 YMCA Scouts, 12 Scouts from Makalause Dream, staff, youth leaders, and parents for a total of 50 participants. 

The first day was a vibrant mix of preparation and celebration as everyone worked together to build the campsite, cook, and clean. 

Laughter filled the air as the scouts sang traditional songs, learned camp dances, played indoor games and carrom, painted a custom camp banner, and enjoyed a cozy movie before heading to bed. Day 2 brought even more excitement with a refreshing morning swim at Amaluna Resort, hands-on community service projects, the creation of a collaborative wall newspaper, and engaging evening team-building games that strengthened friendships across all groups.

On our final day, August 16, participants worked hand-in-hand to thoroughly clean and pack up the campsite, concluding the three-day adventure with big smiles and wonderful memories. Beyond the fun and games, this camp created a profound impact by fostering genuine inclusion, breaking down social barriers, and building deep mutual respect between YMCA Scouts and the Makalause Dream participants. 

Through shared responsibilities, creative expression, and collaborative teamwork, the youth developed greater self-confidence, leadership skills, and a true sense of belonging that will extend far beyond the campsite.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all 50 participants—the scouts, staff, leaders, and parents—whose enthusiasm and energy made this gathering truly special. We also offer our most sincere appreciation to the YMCA YWCA Scouts of Brønnøysund for making this transformative camp possible through the Makalause Dream 2026 Funding, proving that with continued partnership and generosity, we can successfully live out our mission of leaving no one behind.

මකලාවුස් දරුවන්ට ප්‍රීතිමත් දිනයක් A Day of Joy tp Makalause

2026 ජූලි 31 වනදා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පමුණුගම මාකලෝසා (Makalause) දරුවන්ට අමතක නොවන දිනයක් විය.ඔවුන් විනෝද වීම සඳහා පමුණුගම ලේක් විව් රිසෝර්ට් (Lake View Resort) වෙත ගියහ.

එහිදී ඔවුන් පිහිනුම් තටාකයේ විනෝද වූ අතර ඉන්පසුව නැටුම් සැසියක්ද පැවැත්විණි. උත්සවය අවසානයේදී ඔවුහූ සැවොම එක්ව රසවත් දිවා ආහාරයක් භුක්ති වින්දහ. 

මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා දරුවන් 8 දෙනෙකු, ඔවුන්ගේ ගුරුවරුන් සහ විශේෂ අවධානයක් අවශ්‍ය දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් දෙමාපියෝ කීපදෙනෙක් ද  සහභාගී වූහ. ලිට්ල් රොමෙල් අරමුදලට (Little Romel Fund) අපගේ විශේෂ ස්තූතිය හිමිවේ.

31st July 2026 was an unforgettable day for Makalause children at Pamunugama, Sri Lanka.

They went to the Lake View Resort, Pamunugama to have fun in the sun. They enjoyed the swimming pool followed by a dancing session.

Towards the end of the event they also enjoyed a delicious lunch as a bunch. 8 children with their teachers and guardians for weaker children took part in the event.

වෙනස්කම් අගය කරමින්, සැමට සමාන ගෞරවයක්: දැනුවත් වීම සඳහා පමුණුගම සහ මීගමුව YMCA දරුවන් එකට එක්වෙයි

පමුණුගම සහ මීගමුව තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම්වල (YMCA) දරුවන් 43 දෙනෙකුගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන්, අහිතකර ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවී සම්ප්‍රදායන් සහ ඒකාකෘතික මතවලට අභියෝග කිරීම අරමුණු කරගත්  දින දෙකක පුහුණු කඳවුරක් 2026 ජූලි 25 සහ 26 යන දිනවල පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේදී පවත්වන ලදී. 

ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ (NCYSL) "ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීම සඳහා වන යෞවන ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වය යන ව්‍යාපෘතියේ (Project Youth Action to Prevent GBV) කොටසක් ලෙස සංවිධානය කරන ලද මෙම කඳවුර, ප්‍රායෝගික ඉගෙනුම් ක්‍රම හරහා සමානාත්මතාවය සහ අන්‍යෝන්‍ය ගෞරවය පිළිබඳ නව අදහස් ගවේෂණය කිරීමට දරුවන්ට ආරක්ෂිත සහ මිත්‍රශීලී පරිසරයක් ලබා දුන්නේය.

මෙම වැඩසටහනේ සහභාගී වන්නන් සරල සාකච්ඡා, නිර්මාණාත්මක කතාන්දර කීම සහ පිරිමි ළමුන් හා ගැහැණු ළමුන් එකට එක්ව කටයුතු කළ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් රාශියකට සහභාගී වූහ. එකට එකතු වී ආහාර පිසීමේ සිට ක්‍රීඩා සහ විනෝදාස්වාදයන් දක්වා, දරුවන් බෙදීම්වලින් තොරව එකමුතුකමේ අගය ප්‍රායෝගිකව අත්විඳින ලදී. 

සමාජයේ පවතින පීඩනයන් ජය ගනිමින් ගැහැණු ළමයින්ට සහ පිරිමි ළමයින්ට තම අරමුණු සාක්ෂාත් කරගත හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳ අර්ථවත් සාකච්ඡාවකට මග පෑදුණු, Dangal චිත්‍රපටයේ කොටසක් නැරඹීම මෙම වැඩසටහනේ විශේෂ අවස්ථාවක් විය.

මෙම සමස්ත වැඩසටහනේ සාර්ථකත්වය රඳා පැවතුනේ, දරුවන්ට තේමාවන් පහසුවෙන් තේරුම් ගත හැකි වන පරිදි සෑම සැසියක්ම කල්පනාකාරීව සැලසුම් කර ඉදිරිපත් කළ තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් දෙකෙහි කැපවූ තරුණ නායක නායිකාවන් 15 දෙනෙකුගේ දායකත්වය මතය.

Empowering the Next Generation: Pamunugama and Negombo YMCAs Unite for Gender Equality Camp

Forty-three children from the YMCA of Pamunugama and the YMCA of Negombo gathered for an engaging two-day training camp dedicated to challenging negative gender norms and stereotypes held on 25 and 26 July 2026. 

Training was organized as part of the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka (NCYSL) Project Youth Action to Prevent GBV, the camp provided a safe and welcoming space for children to explore new ideas about equality and mutual respect through hands-on learning.

The participants took part in a wide variety of activities, including simple discussions, creative storytelling, and collaborative tasks where boys and girls worked together seamlessly. From cooking meals side by side to playing sports and games, the children experienced firsthand the value of teamwork without division. 

A highlight of the program was watching a portion of the inspiring movie Dangal, which led to thoughtful conversations about how both girls and boys can overcome societal pressures and achieve their goals.

The success of the entire event was largely driven by 15 dedicated youth leaders from both YMCAs who thoughtfully planned and facilitated every session, ensuring the themes were relatable and easy for the children to grasp. 

By encouraging open dialogue from a young age, this collaborative camp helped plant the seeds for a more inclusive and understanding community.

Getting Used to Daily Life මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ දරුවන් දෛනික ජීවිතයට හුරුවීම

2026 ජූලි 24 වැනි සිකුරාදා දින මාකලෝසා ඇදුරු මණ්ඩලය, දෙමාපියන් දෙදෙනෙකු සහ දරුවන් 9 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් පිරිසක් දෛනික ජීවිතයේ සේවාවන් පිළිබඳ ප්‍රායෝගික දැනුමක් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා කෙටි සංචාරයක නිරත වූහ. එහි ප්‍රථම අදියර ලෙස පමුණුගම පොලිස් ස්ථානය වෙත ගිය දරුවන්ට මහජන ආරක්ෂාව සඳහා පොලීසිය ඉටු කරන සේවය සහ එහි විවිධ අංශවල ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වය පිළිබඳව නිලධාරීන්ගෙන් මනා අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගන්නා ලදී.

අනතුරුව බෝපිටිය කොමර්ෂල් බැංකුව නැරඹීමට ගිය පිරිස ඉතා ආදරයෙන් පිළිගත් බැංකු කළමනාකාරතුමා ඇතුළු කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය, බැංකුවක මූලික ක්‍රියාපටිපාටීන්, ඉතුරුම්වල වැදගත්කම සහ ගනුදෙනු සිදුවන අන්දම ප්‍රායෝගිකව පෙන්වා දුන්හ. ඉන්පසු බැංකු කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් ලබා දුන් ආහාර පාන සංග්‍රහයෙන් දරුවෝ සිය විඩාව නිවා ගත්හ.

අවසාන වශයෙන් බෝපිටිය පොළ භූමිය නරඹමින් විවිධ දෑ මිලදී ගැනීමට දරුවන්ට අවස්ථාව උදා විය. එක් නගරයකින් මහජනතාවට සැපයෙන විවිධ සේවාවන් පිළිබඳව ප්‍රායෝගික දැනුමක් දරුවන්ට අත්පත් කර ගැනීමට මෙම චාරිකාව මහඟු අවස්ථාවක් විය.

On Friday, July 24, 2026, a group consisting of the Makalosa teaching staff, two parents, and 9 children engaged in a short excursion to gain practical knowledge about everyday community services. As the first phase of their visit, they went to the Pamunugama Police Station, where the children gained a great understanding from the officers regarding the services rendered by the police for public safety and the functions of its various departments.

Following that, the group visited the Commercial Bank in Bopitiya, where they were warmly welcomed by the branch manager and the staff. The staff simply explained the basic procedures of a bank, the importance of savings, and practically demonstrated how financial transactions take place. Afterwards, the children refreshed themselves with the food and beverage treats provided by the bank staff.

Finally, the children had the opportunity to visit the Bopitiya fairgrounds and purchase various items. This excursion served as a wonderful opportunity for the children to acquire practical knowledge about the different services provided to the public within a single town.

තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය මැදිහත් වීමෙන් තරුණ පරපුර සුරක්ෂිත හා ගෞරවනීය ප්‍රජාවක් උදෙසා සවිබල ගන්වයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාව (NCYSL) විසින් ක්‍රියාත්මක කරනු ලබන "ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීම උදෙසා තරුණ මැදිහත්වීම" ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ, දෙදින තරුණ පුහුණු වැඩසටහනක් 2026 ජූලි 11 සහ 12 යන දිනවල පවත්වන ලදී. 

පමුණුගම, සැන්චුවරි හවුස් (Sanctuary House) හිදී පැවති මෙම වැඩසටහන, ප්‍රාදේශීය තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් දෙකක තරුණ නායකයින්ගේ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වුණු අතර, එමගින් ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනය පිළිබඳ ඔවුන්ගේ අවබෝධය පුළුල් කරමින්, සිය ප්‍රජාවන් තුළ ධනාත්මක සමාජ වෙනසක් උදෙසා ඔවුන් දායක කර ගැනීම අපේක්ෂා කෙරිණි.

මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා පාමනුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණ තරුණියන් 10 දෙනෙකු ද, මීගමුව තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් 12 දෙනෙකු ද සහභාගී වූහ. අන්තර්ක්‍රියාකාරී ඉගෙනුම් ක්‍රමවේද හරහා, සහභාගිවන්නන් විසින් ලිංගිකත්වය (Sex) සහ ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය (Gender) අතර වෙනස, ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ භූමිකාවන්, සමාජ සම්මතයන්, ඒකාකෘති, ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ අනන්‍යතාවය, ලිංගික දිශානතිය, බලය, සමානාත්මතාවය සහ සාධාරණත්වය වැනි සංකල්ප මෙන්ම, ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනයේ විවිධ ස්වරූපයන් පිළිබඳව ගැඹුරින් සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී. 

විශේෂයෙන්ම, 'GBV Tree' නමැති විශ්ලේෂණ මෙවලම භාවිත කරමින්, හිංසනයට මුල්වන හේතු, ඊට දායක වන සාධක සහ එහි ප්‍රතිවිපාක විද්‍යාත්මකව හඳුනා ගැනීමට සහ අසමාන බල සම්බන්ධතා තුළින් හිංසනය උත්සන්න වන ආකාරය අවබෝධ කර ගැනීමට ඔවුහු උත්සාහ කළහ.

මෙම වැඩසටහනේ වැදගත්ම අංගයක් වූයේ පුහුණු සැසිවලින් ඔබ්බට ගොස් ප්‍රායෝගික විසඳුම් කරා එළඹීමයි. ඒ අනුව, තමන් නියෝජනය කරන සංගම් සහ ප්‍රජාවන් තුළ ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ හැකි දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන් සැලසුම් කිරීමට සහභාගිවන්නෝ යොමු වූහ. අධ්‍යාපනය, සංවාදය සහ ප්‍රජා සහභාගීත්වය තුළින් ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීමට දායක විය හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව ඔවුහු නිර්මාණශීලී අදහස් ඉදිරිපත් කළහ.

පුහුණු සැසිවලට අමතරව, මෙම වැඩසටහන සහභාගිවන්නන් අතර සුහදතාවය සහ අන්‍යෝන්‍ය සබඳතා වර්ධනය කිරීමට කදිම වේදිකාවක් විය. සන්ධ්‍යා කාලයේ පැවති විනෝදාත්මක ක්‍රියාකාරකම් මගින් සහභාගිවන්නන් අතර මිත්‍රත්වය ශක්තිමත් වූ අතර, ඔවුන් තුළ කණ්ඩායම් හැඟීම සහ පොදු අරමුණක් වෙනුවෙන් පෙළගැසීමේ ස්වභාවය තවදුරටත් තහවුරු විය.

තරුණ පරපුරේ දැනුම සහ කැපවීම ශක්තිමත් කිරීම තුළින්, "ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවය මත පදනම්වූ හිංසනය වැළැක්වීම උදෙසා තරුණ මැදිහත්වීම" ව්‍යාපෘතිය අරමුණු කරන්නේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ වඩාත් සුරක්ෂිත, සමානාත්මතාවය සහිත සහ හිංසනයෙන් තොර ප්‍රජාවක් ගොඩනැගීමට දායක වන වගකීම් සහගත තරුණ නායකයින් බිහි කිරීමයි.

National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka Equips Youth to Promote Safe and Respectful Communities

The National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka (NCYSL) successfully conducted a two-day youth training programme on 11 and 12 July 2026 under its Young People Taking Action to Prevent Gender-Based Violence (GBV) project. The training was held at Sanctuary House, Pamunugama, bringing together young leaders from two local YMCAs to strengthen their understanding of Gender-Based Violence and prepare them to become advocates for positive change within their communities.

The programme was attended by 10 young people from the YMCA of Pamunugama and 12 young people from the YMCA of Negombo. Through interactive learning methods, participants engaged in discussions, group work and reflective activities designed to build a strong foundation in gender-related concepts and Gender-Based Violence.

Throughout the training, participants explored key topics including the difference between Sex and Gender, Gender Roles, Gender Norms, Gender Stereotypes, Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation, Power, Equality and Equity, and the different forms of Gender-Based Violence. Using the GBV Tree tool, participants analyzed the root causes, contributing factors and consequences of GBV, helping them understand how harmful social norms and unequal power relationships can lead to violence.

A key component of the programme was looking beyond the training itself. Participants worked together to discuss and design practical awareness activities that can be implemented within their own YMCAs and extended to children, youth groups and the wider communities where their YMCAs serve. These discussions encouraged young people to think creatively about how they can contribute to preventing Gender-Based Violence through education, dialogue and community engagement.

Beyond the learning sessions, the programme also created opportunities for fellowship and relationship building. The evening activities provided a relaxed environment where participants from both YMCAs connected through games and conversations.These informal interactions strengthened friendships, encouraged teamwork and fostered a spirit of unity among the participants.

By strengthening the knowledge and engagement of youth, the Young People Taking Action to Prevent GBV project aims to empower young people to become active contributors in creating safer, more inclusive and violence-free communities across Sri Lanka.

Building an Inclusive Future: Empowering Youth through Disability Inclusion Awareness

The training dialogue on the inclusion of persons with disability, conducted by the Young Men's Christian Association of Pamunugama under the 'Makalause Dream' project on July 7, 2026, was another step aimed at bringing about an attitudinal change in society.

The program was held in the association’s new youth safe space and was attended by 13 young people, two teachers from the Makalause Dream School, and the General Secretary of the association; it was an occasion that broadened everyone’s knowledge and understanding.

Opening the program, the General Secretary made a presentation on the basic concepts of disability. It was emphasized that disability is a conflict between an individual’s physical or mental impairments and the physical, attitudinal, and systemic barriers existing in society, and that the disability lies not within the person, but within those societal barriers.

Special attention was paid to the correct use of language, keeping humanity and respect in mind. The participants well understood the importance of using respectful terms such as "person with disability" instead of derogatory terms like "disabled person",  "helpless person." and etc.

In the discussion on theoretical models regarding persons with disability, the need to move away from traditional and charity-based models rooted in old myths and pity toward rights-based and social models was clarified.

Further details were provided on how equal opportunities can be provided to persons with disability through concepts such as Universal Design and Reasonable Accommodation. The legal value of this process was also understood by the participants through an awareness of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), an international commitment accepted by Sri Lanka.

Subsequently, the teachers of the Makalause Dream School shared their practical experiences, discussing steps that can be taken to overcome physical and attitudinal barriers in society, as well as their daily experiences in dealing with children with disability with the youth.

The association expresses its gratitude to World Vision for their financial contribution to the painting of the association's new youth safe space, which facilitated the holding of this program. According to the evaluations conducted at the beginning and end of the program, a clear growth in the knowledge and attitudes of the participating youth toward persons with disability was observed.

This positive attitudinal change within the younger generation will undoubtedly be a great strength in the future activities carried out by the association to build an inclusive society.

සමාජ බාධක ජය ගනිමු, අන්තර්කරණය උදෙසා තරුණ දායකත්වය පිළිබඳ සංවාදය

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය විසින් මාකලෝසා සිහිනය ව්‍යාපෘතිය යටතේ 2026 ජූලි 7 වන දින පවත්වන ලද ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාව අන්තර්කරණය පිළිබඳ පුහුණු සංවාදය, සමාජයේ ආකල්පමය වෙනසක් ඇති කිරීම අරමුණු කරගත් තවත් එක් පියවරක් විය.

සංගමයේ නව තරුණ ආරක්ෂිත අවකාශයේදී පැවැත්වූ මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා තරුණ තරුණියන් 13 දෙනෙකු, මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ ගුරුතුමියන් දෙදෙනා සහ සංගමයේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම්වරයා සහභාගී වූ අතර, මෙය සියලුදෙනාගේම දැනුම සහ අවබෝධය පුළුල් කළ අවස්ථාවක් විය.

වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කරමින් ප්‍රධාන ලේකම්වරයා විසින් ආබාධිතභාවය පිළිබඳ මූලික සංකල්ප පිළිබඳව ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමක් සිදු කරන ලදී. ආබාධිතභාවය යනු පුද්ගලයෙකුගේ ශාරීරික හෝ මානසික දුර්වලතා සහ සමාජයේ පවතින භෞතික, ආකල්පමය සහ ක්‍රමවේද බාධක අතර සිදුවන ගැටුමක් බවත්, ආබාධය ඇත්තේ පුද්ගලයා තුළ නොව එම සමාජීය බාධක තුළ බවත් අවධාරණය කෙරිණි. 

මනුෂ්‍යත්වය සහ ගෞරවය පෙරදැරි කරගෙන භාවිතා කළ යුතු නිවැරදි භාෂා භාවිතය පිළිබඳව ද මෙහිදී විශේෂ අවධානයක් යොමු විය. විශේෂයෙන්ම 'ආබාධිතයා' හෝ 'අසරණයා' වැනි වචන වෙනුවට 'ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයා' වැනි ගෞරවනීය යෙදුම් භාවිත කිරීමේ වැදගත්කම සහභාගී වූවන් හොඳින් වටහා ගත්හ.

ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයන් සම්බන්ධයෙන් පවතින න්‍යායාත්මක ආකෘති පිළිබඳ සාකච්ඡාවේදී, පැරණි මිථ්‍යාවන් සහ අනුකම්පාව පදනම් කරගත් සම්ප්‍රදායික සහ පුණ්‍යාධාර ආකෘතිවලින් මිදී, අයිතිවාසිකම් මත පදනම් වූ සහ සමාජීය ආකෘති කරා යොමුවීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවය පැහැදිලි කෙරිණි. 

විශ්වීය සැලසුම්කරණය (Universal Design) සහ සාධාරණ අවකාශ (Reasonable Accommodation) වැනි සංකල්ප මගින් ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයන්ට සමාන අවස්ථා ලබාදිය හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව ද මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් විය. ශ්‍රී ලංකාව පිළිගත් ජාත්‍යන්තර බැඳීමක් වන ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයන්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ සම්මුතිය (UNCRPD) පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීම මගින්, මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියේ ඇති නීතිමය වටිනාකම ද සහභාගී වූවන්ට අවබෝධ විය.  

ඉන් අනතුරුව, මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ ගුරුතුමියන් විසින් තම ප්‍රායෝගික අත්දැකීම් බෙදාගනිමින්, සමාජයේ පවතින භෞතික සහ ආකල්පමය බාධක මගහරවා ගැනීමට ගත හැකි පියවර පිළිබඳව මෙන්ම ආබාධ සහිත දරුවන් සමඟ ගනුදෙනු කිරීමේදී ඔවුන් එදිනෙදා  මුහුණ දෙන අත්දැකීම් පිළිබඳව ද තරුණ තරුණියන් සමග බෙදා ගන්නා ලදී.  

මෙම වැඩසටහන පැවැත්වීම සඳහා ඉඩ පහසුකම් සලසා දුන් සංගමයේ නව තරුණ ආරක්ෂිත අවකාශය අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීම සඳහා මූල්‍ය දායකත්වය ලබාදුන් වර්ල්ඩ් විශන් ආයතනයට සංගමය සිය කෘතඥතාව පළ කරයි. වැඩසටහන ආරම්භයේ සහ අවසානයේ සිදුකළ ඇගයීමට අනුව, සහභාගී වූ තරුණ තරුණියන්ගේ ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයන් කෙරෙහි වූ ආකල්ප සහ ඔවුන්ගේ දැනුමේ පැහැදිලි වර්ධනයක් දක්නට ලැබිණ. 

තරුණ පරපුර තුළ ඇති වූ මෙම ධනාත්මක ආකල්පමය වෙනස, අන්තර්කරණය වූ සමාජයක් ගොඩනැගීමට අනාගතයේදී සංගමය සිදු කරන්නාවූ කටයුතුවලදී විශාල ශක්තියක් වනු නොඅනුමානය.   

Day-out for Makalause at a Shpping Mall - මාකලෝසා දවන්ගේ සාප්පු සංකීර්ණ චාරිකාව

9 Makalause students and teachers went for a day out to Reality Plaza shopping center. They visited the shops and other important places in the shopping center. 

While visiting the place they also paid a visit to Dinusha Nanayakkara's Nikon Studio. It was very interesting to know about the art photography and videography in which he showed our students many rare pictures and videos of beautiful places in Sri Lanka and the difficult journeys in search of them. A few parents accompanied the teachers to help the children with difficulties. 

Finally they all went to the Pizza Hut just in front of Reality Plazza and enjoyed a delicious meal.  It was a wonderful day for Makalause students.

2026.06.26 දින මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ දරුවෝ 9 දෙනෙකු, ගුරුතුමියන් දෙදෙනා සහ කළමණාකරු ජාඇල රියැලිටි ප්ලාසා සාප්පු සංකීර්ණය බැහැදුටූහ. 

එහි සාප්පු හා වෙනත් ස්ථාන බැහැදුටු ඔවුනට දිනූෂ නානායක්කාර මහත්මාගේ නිකොන් ස්ටුඩියෝව සුවිශේෂ මතක සටහනක් සනිටුහන් කළ ස්ථානයක් විය. එහිදී එම ස්ථානයේ වූ විසල් ඩිජිටල් තිරය මත ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දුර්ලභ වූත් අති සුන්දර දසුන් දැක ගැනීමේ භාග්‍යය මාකලෝසා පවුලට හිමිවිය. 

මෙම චාරිකාවේදී අපහසුතා ඇති දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් මව්වරුන් කීප දෙනෙකු සහභාගි වූ අතර රියැලිටි ප්ලාසා සංකීර්ණයට ඉදිරියෙන් පිහිටි පිට්සා හට් ස්ථානයෙන් රසවත් ආහාර වේලක් රස විඳින්නට ඔවුනට අවස්ථාව ලැබිණි.
