Training for Real Life for Makalause Students - දෛනික ජීවිතේ වැඩ කටයුතු සඳහා මාකලෝසා දරුවන් පුහුණු කිරීම

The train excursion organized for the children of the Makalosa Program Center of the Pamunugama Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) was held with great enthusiasm on Friday, May 29th. Starting from the Ja-Ela railway station, the highlight of this trip was providing the children with practical, real-life experiences. From the very beginning, the children actively participated in every step of the journey, including going to the ticket counter, paying for their tickets, waiting for the train, and enjoying the scenic rail ride to their destination.

Upon arriving at the Negombo railway station, the children proceeded to the beautiful Rajapaksa Park, where they spent a wonderful time enjoying the surroundings and engaging in various games. In the evening, the group visited Pizza Hut in Negombo to enjoy some delicious pizza, sharing their experiences of the day with bright, happy smiles. The trip, in which nine children participated, concluded with everyone returning home filled with immense satisfaction. This successful outing was made possible largely due to the guidance of the Makalosa teaching staff and the unwavering support provided by the parents.

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ මාකලෝසා වැඩසටහන් මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් සංවිධානය කළ දුම්රිය චාරිකාව පසුගිය මැයි 29 වැනි සිකුරාදා ඉතා පැවැත්විණි. ජා-ඇල දුම්රිය ස්ථානයෙන් ඇරඹි මෙම චාරිකාවේ විශේෂත්වය වූයේ දරුවන් හට එදිනෙදා ජීවිතයේ අත්දැකීම් ප්‍රායෝගිකව ලබා දීමයි. ඒ අනුව දුම්රිය ප්‍රවේශපත්‍ර කවුන්ටරය වෙත ගොස් මුදල් ගෙවා තමන්ගේ ටිකට් පත මිලදී ගැනීමේ සිට, දුම්රිය පැමිණෙන තෙක් රැඳී සිටීම සහ ගමනාන්තය දක්වා දුම්රිය ගමනේ අසිරිය විඳගැනීම දක්වා වූ සියලුම අවස්ථාවන්ට දරුවෝ ඉතා උනන්දුවෙන් හා ක්‍රියාකාරීව සහභාගි වූහ.

මීගමුව දුම්රිය ස්ථානයට ළඟා වූ දරුවන් පසුව නගරයේ පිහිටි රාජපක්ෂ උද්‍යානය වෙත ගමන් කළේ ඉමහත් සතුටකිනි. එහිදී පරිසරයේ සුන්දරත්වය නරඹමින් සහ විවිධ ක්‍රීඩාවල නිරත වෙමින් දරුවන් ගත කළේ ඉතා ප්‍රීතිමත් කාලයකි. සවස් යාමයේ මීගමුව පීසා හට් (Pizza Hut) වෙත ගොඩවැදුණු ඔවුන් එහිදී පීසා රස බලමින් සිය දිනයේ අත්දැකීම් බෙදාහදා ගත්තේ සතුට මුසු වූ මුවින්. ඉමහත් තෘප්තියකින් යුතුව නැවත නිවෙස් බලා පිටත් වූ මෙම චාරිකාව සඳහා දරුවන් නව දෙනෙකු සහභාගි වූ අතර, මාකලෝසා මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ ඇදුරු මඬුල්ලේ මඟපෙන්වීම සහ දෙමාපියන්ගේ නොමඳ සහයෝගය මෙම සාර්ථක චාරිකාව පිටුපස තිබූ ප්‍රධානතම ශක්තිය විය.

Pre School Annual Trip - පෙර පාසල් වාර්ෂීක චාරිකාව

On May 28, 2026, the students of YMCA Preschool and their parents set off on a wonderful educational trip. They started their day at the Dehiwala Zoo, where the children were excited to see all the animals. It was a great chance for them to learn about nature and wildlife in a fun, outdoor setting.

After the zoo, they visited Ratmalana Airport. The children were amazed to see the airplanes up close and learned a little bit about how air travel works. It was definitely a highlight of the day, as many of them had a great time seeing how these big machines take to the sky.

They ended their trip with a visit to the sacred Kelaniya Temple. It was a quiet and peaceful way to finish their journey, allowing everyone to experience a beautiful cultural and religious environment. It was a day filled with learning and happy memories for the little ones, and the school is very thankful to all the parents who joined them.

2026 මැයි 28 වන දින, පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් පෙර පාසලේ සිසු දරුවන් සහ ඔවුන්ගේ දෙමාපියන් ප්‍රීතිමත් අධ්‍යාපනික චාරිකාවක නිරත විය. ඔවුන් සිය දිනය ආරම්භ කළේ දෙහිවල සත්වෝද්‍යානයෙනි. එහිදී විවිධ සතුන් දැක බලා ගැනීමට ලැබීම දරුවන්ට මහත් සතුටක් ගෙන දුන් අතර, ස්වභාවධර්මය සහ සතුන් පිළිබඳව බොහෝ දේ ඉගෙන ගැනීමට එය කදිම අවස්ථාවක් විය.

සත්වෝද්‍යානයෙන් පසු, ඔවුන් රත්මලාන ගුවන් තොටුපළ වෙත ගියේය. ගුවන් යානා ඉතා සමීපයෙන් දැක ගැනීමට ලැබීම දරුවන් තුළ දැඩි උනන්දුවක් ඇති කළ අතර, ගුවන් යානා ක්‍රියා කරන ආකාරය පිළිබඳව ද ඔවුන්ට මූලික අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගැනීමට හැකි විය. ගුවන් යානා අහසට නැඟෙන ආකාරය දැකීම දරුවන්ට සැබවින්ම සුන්දර අත්දැකීමක් විය.

සංචාරයේ අවසානය සනිටුහන් කරමින් ඔවුන් කැලණිය රජමහා විහාරය වෙත පැමිණියෝය. චාරිකාවේ වෙහෙස නිවාලමින් සිතට සැනසීමක් ගෙන දෙන පූජනීය පරිසරයක් තුළ කාලය ගත කිරීමට සියලු දෙනාටම හැකි විය. ඉගෙනුමෙන් සහ අලුත් අද්දැකීම් වලින් පිරුණු මේ දිනය දරුවන්ට අමතක නොවන මතකයක් වූ අතර, මෙම චාරිකාව සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට සහය වූ සියලුම දෙමාපියන්ට අපගේ ස්තුතිය පුදකර සිටිමු.

මොබයිල් ජර්නලිස්ම් පුහුණුව Mobile Journalism Training

පරිසර යුක්ති කේන්ද්‍රය මඟින් මැයි මස 19 වන දින කපුන්ගොඩ අමලූනා හෝටලයේ දී සංවිධානය කළ ‘මොබයිල් ජර්නලිස්ම්’ පුහුණු වැඩසටහන සඳහා පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් මිනද, චාමික, ඉසුරු සහ ශයිනි සහභාගී වූහ. පාරිසරික ගැටළු පිළිබඳව ප්‍රජාව දැනුවත් කිරීම සඳහා ජංගම දුරකථනය උපයෝගී කරගත හැකි නවීන තාක්ෂණික ක්‍රමවේදයන් සහ ගුණාත්මක කෙටි වීඩියෝ නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ පියවරයන් පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී ප්‍රායෝගික පුහුණුවක් ලබා දෙන ලදී. මෙම වැඩසටහන හරහා ලද දැනුම පරිසරය සුරැකීමේ සහ ඒ පිළිබඳව සමාජ කතිකාවතක් ගොඩනැගීමේ කාර්යය සඳහා ඉදිරියේදී උපයෝගී කර ගැනීමට අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.

The Centre for Environmental Justice organized a one-day mobile journalism training program on May 19th at the Amaluna Hotel, Kapungoda. Representing our association, Minada, Chamika, Isuru, and Shaini participated in this workshop. The program provided practical training on how to use mobile phones to raise awareness about environmental issues and the techniques required to create effective short videos for public advocacy. The skills acquired through this workshop are expected to be utilized in our future efforts to protect the environment and promote meaningful social dialogue on these critical matters.

Inclusive Avurudu Udanaya (New Year Festival) 2026

The annual New Year sports festival, organized by the youth of the Pamunugama Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), was held with great enthusiasm on the 17th of May at the Pamunugama YMCA premises. The event featured a wide range of games categorized by age groups, along with several open competitions for youth and adult participants. The program was vibrant and colorful, featuring traditional games such as pillow fighting, pot breaking, spoon race with a lime, sack races, finding the hidden coin, and threading the needle, alongside modern New Year games like naming the teddy bear and the forehead-to-mouth biscuit game.

More than 300 people, including the child members of the Pamunugama YMCA, preschool children, local youths, students from the Makalosa Dream School, and neighbors, participated in the event with great excitement. Throughout the duration of the sports festival, the atmosphere was filled with joy, camaraderie, and a spirit of togetherness, as participants from all walks of life gathered to celebrate the festive season.

The primary objective of the Pamunugama YMCA in organizing such activities is to foster inclusivity for persons with disabilities, while sharing joy and entertainment among the community. This annual sports festival has become a hub for promoting unity and friendship among villagers, and the association looks forward to continuing such initiatives in the future to further uplift and support diverse community activities at the grassroots level.

අන්තර්කරනීය අවුරුදු උදානය 2026

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ තරුණ තරුණියන් විසින් වාර්ෂිකව සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන අලුත් අවුරුදු ජන ක්‍රීඩා වැඩසටහන මැයි මස 17 වන දින පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් භූමියේදී අති උත්කර්ෂවත් අයුරින් පැවැත්විණ. 

වයස් කාණ්ඩ ගණනාවක් යටතේ ප්‍රදේශයේ දරු දැරියන් සඳහා ක්‍රීඩා රාශියක් මෙන්ම තරුණ සහ වැඩිහිටි කණ්ඩායම් වෙනුවෙන්ද විවෘත තරග කිහිපයක්ම පැවැත්වුණු අතර, කොට්ටාපොර, වාසනා මුට්ටිය බිඳීම, හැන්ද මත දෙහි ගෙඩිය ගෙන යාම, ගෝනි රේස්, කාසිය සෙවීම, ඉදිකටුවට නූල දැමීම වැනි සම්ප්‍රදායික ජන ක්‍රීඩා මෙන්ම ටෙඩිබෙයාර්ට නම තැබීම සහ නලල මත බිස්කටය තබා කෑම වැනි නූතන අවුරුදු ක්‍රීඩාවන්ගෙන්ද මෙම වැඩසටහන වර්ණවත් විය.

මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ ළමා සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන්, පෙර පාසලේ දරු දැරියන්, ප්‍රදේශයේ දරු දැරියන්, මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ දරුවන් සහ අසල්වාසීන් ඇතුළු 300 කට අධික පිරිසක් ඉතා උද්යෝගයෙන් සම්බන්ධ වූහ. ක්‍රීඩා උළෙල පැවති කාලසීමාව පුරාම දැකගත හැකි වූයේ සතුටින් පිරි සුහද වාතාවරණයකි.

HVM 3 පුහුණු වැඩමුළුවට සහභාගී වූ පමුණුගම YMCA

2026 මැයි 16 වන සෙනසුරාදා, තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ දී පැවති HVM 3 (ඉතිහාසය, දැක්ම සහ මෙහෙවර) පුහුණු වැඩමුළුව සඳහා දිවයින පුරා විසිරී සිටින තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් 15 දෙනෙකුගේ කණ්ඩායමක් සමඟ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් මිනද, සඳරු, සෙනසි, තක්ෂිලා සහ රයිනි යන පිරිස සහභාගී විය. පෙර ප්‍රාදේශීය මට්ටමින් පැවැත්වූ HVM 1 මූලික පුහුණු වැඩසටහන්වල මීලඟ පියවරක් ලෙස මෙම වැඩමුළුවට පැවැත්වින. 

ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ හිටපු සභාපති සමන් පෙරේරා පියතුමාගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් පැවති මෙම වැඩසටහන, YMCA ව්‍යාපාරයේ පරිණාමය පිළිබඳ ගැඹුරු අධ්‍යයනයකට අවස්ථාව සලසා දුන්නේය. මෙහිදී සහභාගී වූවන් වර්තමාන ක්‍රිස්තියානි මෙහෙවර පිළිබඳව මෙන්ම, 'Challenge 21' සහ අපගේ වර්තමාන මගපෙන්වන ලියවිල්ල වන 'Vision 2030' ලියවිල්ල පිළිබඳවද අධ්‍යයනයක යෙදින. 

මෙම අත්දැකීම අපගේ තරුණ සාමාජිකයන්ට සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයට තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයෙහි  ගෝලීය අනන්‍යතාවය හැඩගස්වන මූලික වටිනාකම් සමඟ අනන්‍ය වීමට ලැබුණු වටිනා අවස්ථාවක් විය. 

Empowering Our Future: Pamunugama YMCA at HVM 3 Training

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, members of the Pamunugama YMCA joined representatives from across the country for the History, Vision and Mission 3 (HVM 3) Training at the National Council. Representing our branch, Minada, Sandaru, Senasi, Thakshila, and Raini took part in this intensive session, which served as a follow-up to the foundational history, vision, and mission workshops previously held at the local level.

Facilitated by Rev. Saman Perera, the Past President of the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka, the programme offered a deep dive into the evolution of the YMCA movement. Participants explored the contemporary Christian mission and analyzed key strategic frameworks that have defined our organization’s direction over the years, ranging from the historic Challenge 21 to our current guiding document, Vision 2030.

This experience has been a vital opportunity for our youth and staff to reconnect with the core values that shape our global identity. 

Makalause Students Visit Guruge Nature Park

2026.04.28 was an unforgettable day for Makalause. 12 Makalause children with their teachers went to Guruge Park swimming area . 

Before getting to the pools they also enjoyed the birds and animals in the area. 

Then they also visited the blacksmith's area popularly known as " kammala" and came to know its parts and activities. 

The swimming area has four swimming pools. Makalause group used the children's pool which was shallow yet filled with varieties of activities, and the pool with waves . 

After spending a few hours they enjoyed a delicious lunch. Before the heavy rainfall start to disturb their happiness all were lucky to  get in to the van to go back. 

Thanks to the Little Romel Fund  It was an amazing experience to all the children and staff at Makalause.

මාකලෝසා දරුවන්ගේ ගුරුගේ උද්‍යාන සංචාරය

2026.04.28 මාකලෝසා දරුවන් 12ක් හා ගුරුමහත්මා මහත්මීහූ වැලිගම්පිටියේ ගුරුගේ උද්‍යානයට ගියහ. මව්වරුන් කීපදෙනෙක් ද ඔවුන්ගේ සහයට පැමිණ සිටියහ. 

එහි මූලික පරමාර්ථය වූයේ පිහිනුම් තඩාග ආශ්‍රිත විනෝදය ය. එහෙත් ඊට ප්‍රථමයෙන් ඔවුහූ විව්ධ පක්ෂීන් සත්ත්වයන් නරඹමින් විනෝද වූහ. තවද එම ස්ථානයේ දඬුකඳේ ගැසීම, කම්මල හා පැරැණි භාණ්ඩ හා මිනුම් වැනිදෑ පිළිබඳ දැනුම ද එක්කර ගත්හ.  

අනතුරුව පිහිනුම් තඩාග අතුරෙන් දරුවන් සඳහාම වෙන්වූ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් සපිරි තඩාගයන්හී පුරා පැයගණනාවක් ම ඔවුහූ විනෝද වූහ. පසුව ප්‍රණීත ආහාර වේලක් භුක්ති විඳි සියලු දෙනා මහා වැසි මගින් හදවත වසා පැවති සතුට දියකර හරින්නට පෙර ආපසු නිවෙස් බලා යෑමට වෑන් රියට ගොඩ වූහ. 

ලිට්ල් රොමෙන් අරමුදල නිසාවෙන් ලැබූ එම අවස්ථාව ගැන කෘතඥපූර්වකව මාකලෝසා සියල්ලෝ ඉමහත් සුන්දර අවස්ථාවක් අත්වින්දහ.

Annual General Meeting of the Pamunugama YMCA 2026

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) of Pamunugama for the year 2026 was held on the morning of April 26, 2026, at the association premises. Presided over by the President, Mr. Ajith Hettiarachchi, the meeting was attended by 32 members.

The proceedings commenced with a spiritual reflection led by Maleesha Perera and Shinesh Nonis, representing the Youth Club. During the reflection, they emphasized the importance of creating a spiritual environment within all YMCA activities, allowing everyone involved to enter through the "Door of Christ." Furthermore, the significance of performing all services of the association for the glory of God was highlighted. Subsequently, a special prayer was offered to commemorate the members of the association who passed away during the year 2025.

The meeting saw the presentation of progress reports and financial statements covering the past year's initiatives. These included activities of the Children and Scouts sections, pre-school operations, youth programs, development projects of the Makalause Dream School, international programs, Christian mission work, and educational and environmental initiatives. Reports were also presented on training sessions conducted to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and disaster response programs.

The election of the new Board of Officers for the 2026-2027 term also took place during the meeting. The newly appointed officers are as follows:

President: Ajith Hettiarachchi

Treasurer: Ruwan Chandana Perera

Vice Presidents: Grace Patricia and Dhanuka Jayamanna

Additionally, Jacintha Peiris, Nimantha Hettiarachchi, Shivankara Ranaweera, Nirma Senasi, Roshan Fernando, Minada Santhuja, Shinesh Hirusha, and Isuru Peiris were elected as members of the Board of Directors for the upcoming term. The approval of strategic plans for the ensuing year was also successfully carried out during the General Meeting.

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ වාර්ෂික මහා සභා රැස්වීම සාර්ථකව නිම වෙයි

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ 2026 වර්ෂයට අදාළ වාර්ෂික මහා සභා රැස්වීම 2026 අප්‍රියල් 26 උදෑසන සංගම් පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්විණි. සභාපති අජිත් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැති මෙම රැස්වීමට සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් 32 ක් සහභාගී වූහ.

තරුණ හවුල නියෝජනය කරන මලීෂ පෙරේරා සහ ශිනේෂ් නෝනිස් ගේ මෙහෙයවීමෙන් පැවැති ආධ්‍යාත්මික මෙනෙහි කිරීමකින් රැස්වීම ආරම්භ විය. තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය වශයෙන් අප කරන්නා වූ සියළු වැඩකටයුතු තුළ ඊට සම්බන්ධවන සියළු දෙනා හට ක්‍රිස්තුන්වහන්සේ නම් වූ දොරටුව තුළින් ඇතුළු වීමට අවශ්‍ය අධ්‍යාතිමික පරිසරය සැකසීමේ වැදගත්කම මෙනෙහිකිරීම තුළ පසක් කරන ලදි. එමෙන්ම සංගමයේ සියලු සේවාවන් දේව ප්‍රශංසාව උදෙසා සිදු කිරීමේ වැදගත්කම අවධාරණය කෙරිණි. අනතුරුව 2025 වසරේදී දිවියෙන් සමුගත් සංගමයේ සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් අනුස්මරණය කරමින් විශේෂ යැදුමක්ද පවත්වන ලදී.

පසුගිය වසර තුළ සංගමය මගින් ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ ළමා හා බාලදක්ෂ අංශයේ ප්‍රගතිය, පෙර පාසල් කටයුතු, තරුණ වැඩසටහන්, මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ සංවර්ධන කටයුතු, ජාත්‍යන්තර වැඩසටහන්, කිතුනු මෙහෙවර වැඩසටහන්, අධ්‍යාපනික වැඩසටහන්,  පාරිසරික වැඩසටහන්,  ස්ත්‍රී පුරුෂ සමාජ භාවය මත පදනම් වූ හිංසනය පිටුදැකීම පිළිබඳව පුහුණු, ආපදා ප්‍රතිචාර වැඩසටහන් ඇතුළු වැඩකටයුතු පිළිබඳ වාර්තා සහ ගිණුම් වාර්තා සභාවට ඉදිරිපත් කෙරිණි. 

2025-2026 වසර සඳහා නව නිලධාරී මණ්ඩලය පත් කර ගැනීමද මෙහිදී සිදු වූ අතර, එහි නිලතල මෙසේය:

2026 අප්‍රේල් 21 වන දින සන්ධ්‍යාවේදී, මීගමුව තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය සහ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය එක්ව සංවිධානය කරන ලද HVM 1 සහ 2 (ඉතිහාසය, දැක්ම, මෙහෙවර 1 සහ 2) වැඩසටහන පමුණුගම YMCA පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්විණි. ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ 2026 වසර සඳහා වන තරුණ පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් මාලාව්‍රෙ එක් පියවරක් වශයෙන්  මෙම වැඩසටහන ප්‍රාදේශීයව  සංවිධානය කෙරින..

මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා මීගමුව YMCA වෙතින් තරුණ තරුණිය  8 දෙනෙකු සහ පමුණුගම YMCA වෙතින් තරුණ තරුණියන් 7 දෙනෙකු ඇතුළුව 15 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් උද්යෝගිමත් කණ්ඩායමක් සහභාගී වූහ. මීගමුව YMCA හී ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් රමේෂ් කන්නා සහ පමුණුගම YMCA හි ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් රිද්ම ෆොන්සේකා විසින් පහසුකම් සපයන ලද මෙම වැඩසටහන මගින් ලෝක මට්ටමින් මෙන්ම ශ්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ YMCA ව්‍යාපාරයේ ඉතිහාසය සහ එහි ව්‍යාප්තිය පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.

YMCA හි පදනම වන 'පැරිස් සම්මුතිය' (Paris Basis) සහ එහි මූලධර්ම පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී අවධානය යොමු වූ අතර, අතීතය මෙන්ම අනාගතය පිළිබඳවද සාකච්ඡා විය. ඒ අනුව 'Vision 2030' (2030 දැක්ම) ඔස්සේ වර්තමාන සමාජය තුළ YMCA හි කාර්යභාරය සහ එම දිගුකාලීන ඉලක්ක සපුරා ගැනීම සඳහා තරුණ තරුණියන්ගේ දායකත්වය ලබාගත හැකි ආකාරය පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී අදහස් හුවමාරු කර ගන්නා ලදී.

අසල්වැසි සංගම් දෙකක් වන මීගමුව සහ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් අතර සහෝදරත්වය සහ මිත්‍රත්වය තවදුරටත් තහවුරු කරමින්, වැඩසටහන අවසානයේ කණ්ඩායම එක්ව රාත්‍රී ආහාරය ලබාගන්නා ලදි. මෙම වැඩසටහනේ දෙවන පියවර ලෙස ඉදිරියේදී YMCA හි නූතන ක්‍රිස්තියානි මෙහෙවර පිළිබඳව අවධානය යොමු කෙරෙන HVM 3 වැඩසටහන පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.

Negombo and Pamunugama YMCAs Unite for HVM 1 & 2 Youth Training

On the evening of April 21, 2026, the YMCA of Negombo and the YMCA of Pamunugama collaborated to organize the HVM 1 &2 (History, Vision, Mission 1 & 2) programme at the YMCA of Pamunugama. The session brought together 15 enthusiastic young leaders, including 8 youth from Negombo and 7 from Pamunugama, for an evening of learning and reflection. Facilitated by Ramesh Kanna, General Secretary of the YMCA of Negombo, and Ridma Fonseka, General Secretary of the YMCA of Pamunugama, the participants explored the history of the YMCA movement globally and in Sri Lanka.

The discussions also focused on the movement's expansion and the foundational principles of the Paris Basis as well. Beyond looking at the past, the programme highlighted the future through the lens of Vision 2030. This strategic focus allowed the attendees to discuss the evolving role of the YMCA in contemporary society and how they can contribute to its long-term goals.

The evening concluded with a fellowship dinner, providing a relaxed atmosphere for the youth to build and extemd their friendships. This time of fellowship served as the perfect conclusion to a day of learning, reinforcing the brotherhood and sisterhood between the two neighboring YMCAs. 

This programme was locally organized as one of the training components of the Sri Lanka YMCA youth training for year 2026. With the foundations now in place, the groups are looking forward to HVM 3, which will focus on contemporary Christian Mission in the YMCA.

සිංහල දමිල හදවත් යා කරමින් මන්නාරම පප්පාමොඩ්ඩෙයි හි පවත්වන ලද සේවා කඳවුර

2025 නොවැම්බර් මාසයේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට බලපෑ 'දිත්වා' චණ්ඩ මාරුතයෙන් පීඩාවට පත් ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් සහන සැලසීමට පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය සිය හිතමිතුරන්ගේ සහයෝගය ඇතිව වහා ක්‍රියාත්මක විය. මෙහි එක් අදියරක් ලෙස මන්නාරම දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ පප්පාමොඩ්ඩෙයි ප්‍රදේශයේ පෙරපාසලක් කේන්ද්‍ර කරගනිමින් විශේෂ සේවා කඳවුරක් 2026. 07. 18 දින සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණ සාමාජිකයින්, අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩලය සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු 17 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් කණ්ඩායමක් මේ සඳහා සහභාගී වූ අතර, ඔවුන් එහි ළඟා වූ මොහොතේ ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් සහ පෙරපාසල් දරුවන් විසින් මල් කළඹ දී ඉතාමත් උණුසුම් අයුරින් පිළිගනු ලැබීය. ආරම්භයේදීම දරුවන් සමඟ තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ තරුණ තරුණියන් ත්‍යාගද බෙදාගන්නා ලදි. 

මෙම සේවා කඳවුරේදී පෙරපාසල් ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ බිත්ති සහ ක්‍රීඩා උපකරණ නැවත වර්ණ ගැන්වීමටත්, අලුතින් අල්මාරියක් පරිත්‍යාග කිරීමටත් පියවර ගැනුණි. මීට අමතරව, ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ අබලන් වූ වහලය අලුත්වැඩියා කිරීමට සහ ඇතුළත රාක්ක සකස් කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය මූල්‍යමය දායකත්වය ද ලබා දෙමින් දරුවන්ට ආරක්ෂිත මෙන්ම ආකර්ෂණීය පරිසරයක් නිර්මාණය කර දීමට කණ්ඩායම කටයුතු කරන ලදි. භෞතික ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණවලට එහා ගිය මානුෂීය සබඳතාවක් මෙහිදී ගොඩනැගුණු අතර, යුද්ධයේ කටුක අත්දැකීම්වලට මුහුණ දුන්, විශේෂයෙන්ම මුල්ලිවයික්කාල් අවසන් සටන පැවති සමයේ එහි කොටු වී සිටි ජනතාවක් වෙසෙන මෙම ගම්මානය සමඟ සහෝදරත්වය ගොඩනගා ගැනීමට මෙහිදී අවස්ථාව ලැබුණි.

වැඩසටහන අවසානයේ සිය අදහස් දැක්වූ පෙරපාසල් දරුවෙකුගේ මවක් ප්‍රකාශ කළේ, යුද්ධය අවසන් වූ පසු සිංහල ප්‍රජාවක් තමන් සොයා පැමිණ මෙවැනි ආදරණීය සහයෝගයක් දැක්වූ පළමු අවස්ථාව මෙය බවයි. මෙම සංවේදී ප්‍රකාශය තුළින් ජාතීන් අතර එක්සත්කම සහ සංහිඳියාවේ ඇති වැදගත්කම මැනවින් පිළිබිඹු විය. මන්නාරම රදගුරු පදවියේ අරුන්තාස් කෲස් පියතුමාගේ මගපෙන්වීම සහ සම්බන්ධීකරණය මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ සාර්ථකත්වයට ඉවහල් වූ අතර, පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය ඒ පිළිබඳව සිය කෘතඥතාව පළ කරයි. අවසානයේදී මෙම සේවා කඳවුර ගොඩනැගිලි ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණයකට වඩා වැඩි යමක් ඉටු කරමින්, තරුණ නායකත්වය හරහා හදවත් යා කරන සහ පොදු අනාගතයක් ගැන බලාපොරොත්තු දල්වන සංකේතයක් බවට පත් විය.

Rebuilding Hope in Pappamoddai: A YMCA Work Camp Experience

In November 2025, Cyclone Ditva caused widespread devastation across Sri Lanka, leaving many communities struggling to recover. Responding swiftly to this crisis, the YMCA of Pamunugama stepped forward with immediate relief efforts, supported by a network of dedicated friends and partners.

As part of its continued commitment to recovery and community rebuilding, YMCA organized a meaningful work camp at a preschool in Pappamoddai, located in the Mannar District. A team from the YMCA of Pamunugama, comprising 17 youth members, board members, and staff traveled to the area to contribute their time and effort.

Upon arrival, the group received a warm and heartfelt welcome. The preschool children, their parents, and two Reverend Sisters residing near the school greeted the team with flowers, setting the tone for a deeply emotional experience. YMCA also shared gift packs with the students of the Pre School. 

The work carried out during the camp focused on improving the preschool environment. Team from Pamunugama repainted the walls of the school, playground equipment  and donated a cupboard. This project also helped financially to rebuilt storage racks inside the facility and to repair a broken part of the Pre School building roof. These efforts helped create a safer and more welcoming space for the children.

Beyond the physical improvements, the camp offered something even more valuable, the opportunity to build connections. For the team from Pamunugama, it was a chance to engage with a new community, share experiences, and create understanding. The villagers expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting the significance of the visit. This community has endured the hardships of war and was among those trapped in Mullivaikkal during its final stages.

During the closing reflections, mother of a Pre School child shared a powerful sentiment: this was the first time since the end of the war that they had received such a visit from a Sinhala community. They spoke of the genuine love and friendship they felt through this engagement, underscoring the importance of unity and reconciliation.

This successful initiative was made possible with the invaluable support of Rev. Fr. Arunthas Croos of the Mannar Diocese. His dedication in coordinating the groundwork and his presence throughout the work camp played a key role in its success. The YMCA of Pamunugama extends its heartfelt gratitude to him for his commitment and guidance.

This work camp stands as a testament to the power of youth-led action, compassion, and cross-community solidarity. It reminds us that rebuilding is not only about restoring structures but also about healing relationships and nurturing hope for a shared future.

A New Hope, A New Beginning - YMCA Easter Programme for Scouts

Under the theme “A New Hope, A New Beginning,” the Scout Group of the YMCA of Pamunugama conducted its Easter programme on 01.04.2026 at the YMCA premises in Pamunugama. A total of 24 Scouts participated in the programme.

Based on the Bible passage of the empty tomb from the Gospel of John 20:1–10, the participants engaged in a study session and a time of personal reflection. In addition, prayers were offered together, seeking a renewed life filled with hope during this Easter season.

The programme concluded with a short drama performed by the children, who were divided into two groups. One group presented the Last Supper, while the other depicted the betrayal of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Through this programme, the children were given the opportunity to move beyond the usual Easter traditions and gain a deeper understanding of the true meaning of Easter.

අලුත් බලාපොරොත්තුවක්, අලුත් ආරම්භයක් - සංගමයේ ළමා පාස්කු සැමරුම

අලුත් බලාපොරොත්තුවක්, අලුත් ආරම්භයක් යන තේමාව යටතේ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායම තම පාස්කු වැඩසටහන 2026. 04. 01 දින පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේදී පවත්වන ලදි. මේ සඳහා බාල දක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් 24 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී විය. 

ශු. ජොහාන්තුමාගේ සුභාරංචියේ 20: 1-10 ඇති හිස්වූ සොහොන පිළිබඳ ඇති බයිබල් කොටස මූලික කරගනිමින් සහභාගී වූ බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවෝ අධ්‍යයනයක සහ ස්වයං ආවර්ජනයක යෙදුනෝය. එමන්ම මෙම පාස්කුව තුල අලුත් බලාපොරොත්තු සහිතව ජීවිත වෙනසක් වෙනුවෙන් එක්ව දෙවිඳුන් යැදීම ද සිදුකෙරින.

වැඩසටහන අවසන් වූයේ දරුවන් කණ්ඩායම් දෙකකට බෙදී සිදුකල කෙටි රංගනයකිනි. එක් කණ්ඩායමක් අවසන් රාත්‍රී භොජනය රඟ දැක්වූ අතර අනෙක් කණ්ඩායම මල් උයනේදී ජේසුතුමන් පාවාදීම රඟ දක්වන ලදි. මෙම වැඩසටහන තුළින් දරුවන් හට සුපුරුදු පාස්කු වතාවන්ගෙන් ඔබ්බට ගොස් පාස්කු මංගල්ලයේ සැබෑ අරුත තේරුම් ගැනීමට අවස්තාවක් විය. 

Makalause Visit to Temple මාකලෝසා දරුවන් ජා ඇල පන්සල බැහැදකී

27th March 2026 was a special day for Makalause children . With the guidance of their teachers and the support of their parents they visited  the Buddhist temple at Jaela. 

The serenity around was very conducive to the event. The breeze  embracing the big trees near the Ja - canal awakened a freshness in all who were present. Makalause children offered flowers and burnt incense sticks and made the place favourable and pleasant. 

They also listened attentively to the " Bana " ( sermon ) of the " podi hamuduruwo " ( the novice monk ) of the temple. They spent several hours in and around the place. After enjoying some cool drinks under the hot sun happily all went back home  with a cool and pleasent mind and heart.

2026 මාර්තු 26 මාකලෝසා දරුවන්ට විශේෂ දවසක් විය. සිය ගුරු මහත්මා මහත්මීන්ගේ මග පෙන්වීමෙන් හා දෙමාපියන්ගේ සහයෝගයෙන් ඔවුහූ ජාඇල පන්සල නරඹන්නට ගියහ.

අවට පරිසරයේ පැවති ශාන්ත බව එම අවස්ථාවට රුකුලක් විය. ජා ඇල අසල වූ විසල් වෘක්ෂයන් සිපගෙන හමා ආ සුළඟ පැමිණ සිටි සියලුදෙනා බැතිමත් නැවුම් හැඟුමකින් ප්‍රබෝධවත් කළේ ය. මාකලෝසා දරුවෝ සුවඳ මල් පුජා කරමින් හා හඳුන් කූරු දල්වමින් පරිසරය සුවඳවත් හා ප්‍රසන්න කළෝ ය. 

පොඩි හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ බණ හා විහාරස්ථානයේ පුරාවත පිළිබඳ විස්තරයට බැතිමත් ව සවන්දුන් ඔවුහූ නමස්කාර පූර්වකව  උන්වහන්සේගෙන් සමුගත්හ. පැය කීපයක් එම ස්ථානයේ සෞන්දර්ය භුක්ති විඳිමින් ගතකළ මාකලෝසා පිරිස දහමින් සිසිල් වූ සිත මෙන් ම දැඩි හිරු රශ්මිය නිසා උණුසුම් ව තිබූ ගත ද සිසිල් බීමකින් නිවා සනහාගෙන යළි නිවෙස් බලා පිටත්ව ගියහ.
