මකලෝසා ඩ්‍රීම් කාර්ය සාධක කමිටුව රැස්වේ

මකලෝසා ඩ්‍රීම් ව්‍යාපෘතියේ කාර්ය සාධක කමිටුව 2026 මාර්තු 08 දින Crab Cove හිදී රැස්වී ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රගතිය සහ ඉදිරි වසර සඳහා ඇති සැලසුම් පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කළේය.

මෙම කාර්ය කමිටුව ව්‍යාපෘතිය සාර්ථකව ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයට සහාය ලබාදෙන අතර සැලසුම් කිරීම, ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සහ අධීක්ෂණය පිළිබඳ මාර්ගෝපදේශ ලබාදෙයි. කමිටුවට පලක මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයෙකු, තරුණ සාමාජිකයෙකු, දෙමාපියන් දෙදෙනෙකු, උපදේශක් මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයෙකු සහ ව්‍යාපෘති කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය අයත් වේ.

මෙම රැස්වීමේදී ව්‍යාපෘතියේ මෙම වසර සඳහා සකස් කර ඇති වාර්ෂික සැලසුම් සහ ඉලක්ක පිළිබඳව විස්තරාත්මකව සාකච්ඡා කරන ලදී. එසේම ව්‍යාපෘතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමේදී ඇතිවන අභියෝග සහ ඒවා ජයගැනීමේ මාර්ග පිළිබඳවද අදහස් හුවමාරු විය.

මෙම කාර්ය සාධක කමිටුව ව්‍යාපෘතිය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීම සඳහා කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ සාමාජිකයින් අතර සබඳතාවය ගොඩනගන පාලම ලෙස කටයුතු කරයි.

Makalause Dream Task Committee Meets to discuss the proceedings

The Makalause Dream Task Committee met on 08 March 2026 at Crab Cove to review the progress of the project and plan the activities for the year.

The Task Committee supports the project staff in running the programme smoothly by providing guidance in planning, implementation, and monitoring. The committee includes a Board Member, a Youth Member, two parents, an Advisor, and project staff, bringing different perspectives to the project.

During the meeting, the group discussed the annual plans of the project in detail, focusing on how to achieve the targets outlined for this year. Members also discussed some of the challenges faced in implementing the project and shared ideas on how to overcome them.

The meeting helped strengthen the collaboration between the committee and the staff as they continue working together to successfully carry out the Makalause Dream Project.

ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ පමුණුගම සංචාරය

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය සහ නෝර්වේ රාජ්‍යයේහී ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායම අතර 2005 වසරේ සිට ඉතා සමීප මිතුදමක් පවතී. පසුගිය වසර 20 ක කාලය තුල දෙපාර්ශයවය එක්ව විවිධ වැඩසටහන් ක්‍රියාත්මක කොට ඇති අතර එකිනෙකා වෙත සංචාර ගණනාවක් සිදු කොට ඇත.  වසර විස්සක මිතුදම සමරමින් ඇස්කර් බාල දක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ බාල දක්ෂයින් පහළොස් දෙනෙකු සමග රොල්ෆ්, පියුතේ, ශර්ලොත්තෙ සහ වෙන්කෙ යන නායක නායිකාවන් හතර දෙනකුගෙන් යුත් කණ්ඩායමක් 2026 පෙබරවාරි මස 15 සිට 21 දක්වා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරය කලහ. 

පෙබරවාරි 15 වන දින මධ්‍යම රාත්‍රියේ ලංකාවට පැමිණි ඔවුන් 16 වන දින උදෑසන විවේකීව ගත කළ අතර දිවා අහාරයෙන් අනතුරුව මුතුරාජවෙල සහ මීගමු කලපුවේ බෝට්ටු සවාරියක් සඳහා එක්වූහ. ඉන් අනතුරුව පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය වෙත පැමිණි ඔවුන්ව පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ බාල දක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන්, සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් සාදරයෙන් පිළිගත්හ. මෙහිදී ඔවුන් සුහද කතාබහක යෙදීමෙන් අනතුරුව බාලදක්ෂ රැලිය පවත්වා දෙරටේ ධජයන් ඔසවා ඊට ආචාර කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව ජාතික ගීත ගායනා කලහ. ඉන්  අනතුරුව  ක්‍රියාකාරකම් කිහිපයක් ඔස්සේ එකිනෙකා හඳුනා ගැනීම සිදු විය. පළමු දිනයේ පින්තූර

පෙබරවාරි 17 වන දින ඔවුන් දියතලාව වෙත පිටත්විය. මේ ගමන සඳහා පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ බාලදක්ෂයින් 3 දෙනෙකු, නායකයින් දෙදෙනෙකු සහ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් ද සම්බන්ධවිය.  දෙවන දිනයේ පින්තූර පෙබරවාරි 18 වන දින ඔවුන් ඇල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේ සංචාරයක යෙදුන අතර එහිදී ඔවුන් දෝව පන්සල, සහ ආරුක්කු නවයේ පාලම දැක බලා ගත්හ. ඇල්ල සංචාරයේ පින්තූර

පසුදින ඔවුන් හපුතලයේ ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි තේ කර්මාන්ත ශාලාවක් දැක බලා ගනිමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ තේ නිෂ්පාදනය පිළිබඳව තොරතුරු දැනගත්හ.  තේ කර්මාන්තශාලාවේ පින්තූර ඉන් පසු ඔවුන් කලුපහණ ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි වංගෙඩිගල කන්ද තරණය කල අතර ඊට යාබද වංගෙඩි කන්ද කඳු මුදුනද තරණය කරන ලදි. එදින (19) රාත්‍රිය වංගෙඩි කන්දේ තනාගත් කූඩාරම් තුල ගත කරන ලදි. මෙය ඉතා සුන්දර මෙන්ම පාරිසරික අත්දැකීමක් වූ අතර සියළු දෙනා ඉතා සතුටින් මෙම වික්‍රමාන්විතය සමග අත්වින්දහ. වංගෙඩිගල තරණයේ පින්තූර

පසුදින ඔවුන් කොලඹ වෙත පැමිණි අතර එදින සවස වන් ගෝල්ෆේස් සාප්පු සංකීර්ණයේ විවිධ දෑ මිලදී ගනිමින් සහ රාත්‍රී අහාරය ලබාගනිමින් කාලය ගතකලහ. 

පෙබරවාරි 21 වන දින උදෑසන පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය වෙත පැමිණි ඔවුන් 22 වන දිනට යෙදී ඇති ලෝක බාලදක්ෂ දිනය සමරන ලදි. මෙහිදී ඔවුන් පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ බලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් 29 දෙනෙකු හා සමග එක්ව බාලදක්ෂ ඉතිහාසය පිළිබඳව කරුණු සඳහන් පසල් එකලස් කිරීමේ ක්‍රියාකාරකමට එක්වූහ. ඉන් අනතුරුව ඔවුන් විනෝද ක්‍රීඩා කීපයකට මෙන්ම එක්ව සමර චිත්‍රයක් ඇඳීමට එක්වූහ. බාලදක්ෂ දිනය සැමරීමේ පින්තූර 

වැඩසටහනේ වැදගත්ම මෙන්ම අවසන් ක්‍රියාකාරකම වූයේ 20 වසරක මිතුදම සැමරීමේ උත්සවයයි. ඒ සඳහා ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායම, පමුණුගම බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන්, පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන් සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ඇතුළු 80 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී විය. එහිදී ඔවුන් සමරු කේක් එක කැපීම, දෙපාර්ශවයේම බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කල නර්තනයන් සහ රංගනයන් රසවිඳීම සිදු කරන ලදි. එමෙන්ම පැමිණි සිටි පිරිස ආමන්ත්‍රණය කළ ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ නායක රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බර්ග් මහතා සහ සංගමයේ සභාපති අජිත් හෙට්ටිආරච්චි මහතා විසින් පැමිණ සිටි පිරිස අමතමින් 20 වසරක මිතුදම පිළිබඳව මතකයන් සහ අත්දැකීම් බෙදා ගනිමින් එකිනෙකා වෙත ගෞරවය පුදකරන ලදි. එමෙන්ම වසර 20 ක මතකය අළුත් කරමින් පින්තූර පෙළක්ද ඉදිරිපත් කරනලදි. 

මෙම වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව පෙබරවාරි 22 දිනට යෙදී තිබුන ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ නායක රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බර්ග් මහතාගේ උපන්දිනය සමරීමද මෙහිදී සිදුවිය. රොල්ෆ් මහතා පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය සමග ඉතා සමීපව කටයුතු කරන අයෙක් වන අතර මෙම වැඩසටහන අතර ඔහුගේ 50 වන උපන්දිනය සැමරීමට ලැබීම ඉතා විශේෂ අවස්ථාවක් විය. මෙහිදී උපන් දින කේක් එකක් කැපීමෙන් ඔහුට සුබ පැතීමට සියලු දෙනා එක්වූහ.  ඉන් අනතුරුව ඔහු පිළිබඳව ඔහුගේ මිතුරන් වන පියුතේ (ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ නායක), අරුණ ශාන්ත නෝනිස් (සංගමයේ උපදේශක) සහ ධණුක ජයමාන්න (සංගමයේ සාමාජික) ඉතා සංවේදී සුබපැතුම් කතා ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදි. රොල්ෆ් මහතාගේ මිතුරු මිතුරියන් විසින් ඔහු පිළිබඳව ලියන ලද ලිපි ඇතුලත් පින්තූර ඇල්බමයක් මෙහිදී උපන්දින ත්‍යාගයක් ලෙස රොල්ෆ් මහතාහට පිරිනමන ලදි. 

මෙම සංචාරය දෙපාර්ශවය අතර පවතින අඛණ්ඩ මිතුදමට තවත් බොහෝ මතකයන් රැසක් එකතු කිරීමට හැකිවූ අතර වෙනත් සංස්කෘතීන් පිළිබඳව බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂයින් හට දැනගැනීමට මෙන්ම නව මිතුරු මිතුරියන් හඳුනා ගැනීමට අවස්ථාවක් විය. මේ අයුරින් පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයට පැමිණීම වෙනුවෙන් සංගමයේ ස්තූතිය ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමට පිරිනැමේ. සංවත්සරයේ සහ උපන්දිනයේ පින්තූර

Visit of the Asker Scout Group to Pamunugama

A strong and meaningful friendship has existed between the YMCA of Pamunugama and the Asker YMCA/YWCA Scout Group of Norway since 2005. Over the past 20 years, both parties have worked together to implement numerous joint programmes and have taken part in several exchange visits, strengthening bonds of trust, friendship, and shared values.

To celebrate this 20-year-long friendship, a group consisting of 15 Scouts from the Asker Scout Group, along with four Scout leaders - Rolf, Pute, Charlotte, and Wenke visited Sri Lanka from 15th to 21st February 2026.

The group arrived in Sri Lanka at midnight on 15th February. The following morning was spent resting after their journey, and in the afternoon they took part in a boat safari through the Muthurajawela wetlands and the Negombo Lagoon. Later that day, they arrived at the YMCA of Pamunugama, where they were warmly welcomed by Scouts, members, and staff of the YMCA. After a friendly interaction, a Scout assembly was held, during which the national flags of both countries were hoisted and the national anthems were sung. On 17th February, the group travelled to Diyathalawa. Three Scouts, two Scout leaders, and the General Secretary of the YMCA of Pamunugama joined the journey. Pictures from day 2

The following day, the Scouts visited a tea factory and learnt about tea production. Pictures from the Visit to Tea Factory Then joined on an adventurous hike to Wangedigala Mountain in the Kalupahana area and also climbed the nearby peak. The night of 19th February was spent camping in tents set up on the mountain. This experience offered a truly memorable environmental and outdoor learning opportunity, enjoyed enthusiastically by all participants. Pictures from the Hike to Wangedigala

On 20th February, the group returned to Colombo and spent the evening at One Galle Face Shopping Mall, where they enjoyed shopping and dinner together.

On the morning of 21st February, the group returned to the YMCA of Pamunugama to celebrate World Scout Day, which falls on 22nd February. Together with 29 Scouts and Guides from the YMCA of Pamunugama, they participated in an activity focused on the history of Scouting, creating educational displays. The highlight and concluding event of the visit was the celebration of 20 years of friendship between the Asker Scout Group and the YMCA of Pamunugama. Around 80 participants, including Scouts from both groups, YMCA members, and staff, took part in this special occasion. The celebration included the cutting of a commemorative cake and cultural performances such as dances and dramas presented by Scouts from both countries.

Addressing the gathering, Rolf Falkenberg, Scout Leader of the Asker Scout Group, and Ajith Hettiarachchi, President of the YMCA of Pamunugama, shared memories and reflections on the 20-year journey of friendship, highlighting its impact and significance. A photo presentation showcasing memorable moments from the past two decades was also presented.

Alongside this celebration, the birthday of Rolf Falkenberg, which falls on 22nd February, was also celebrated.  Rolf, who has worked very closely with the YMCA of Pamunugama over the years, celebrated his 50th birthday during this visit—making the occasion even more special. A birthday cake was cut, and heartfelt speeches were delivered by his close friends and colleagues, including Pute (Scout Leader, Asker), Mr. Arun Shantha Nonis (Advisor of the YMCA), and Mr. Danuka Jayamanna (Member of the YMCA). A photo album containing letters written by Mr. Rolf’s friends was presented to him as a birthday gift. And also a song was sung by two of the scouts for Rolf. 

This visit added many unforgettable memories to the long-standing friendship between the two organizations. It also provided an invaluable opportunity for Scouts to learn about different cultures, build new friendships, and strengthen international understanding. Swimming Day for Makalause

The children of Makalause Dream School participated in a joyful swimming program held today at the Amaluna Hotel, Kapungoda. Seven students took part and thoroughly enjoyed the experience together with their friends and staff.

Adding special value to the day, Mr. Signar, a volunteer from Norway, also joined the program and shared the fun with the children.

The day concluded with a shared lunch at the YMCA of Pamunugama, bringing everyone together in a spirit of friendship and happiness. This meaningful program was made possible with the generous sponsorship of the Little Romel Found, whose support contributed greatly to its success.

මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ දරුවන්ගේ පිහිණුම් දිනය

මාලකෝසා සිහින පාසලේ දරුවෝ අද දින කැපුන්ගොඩ අමලූනා හෝටලයේ පිහිණුම් වැඩසටහනකට සහභාගී වූහ.  මෙම වැඩසටහනට සිසුන් 7 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී වූ අතර, ඔවුහු තම මිතුරු මිතුරියන් සහ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සමඟ විනෝදයෙන් කාලය ගත කළහ.

විශේෂත්වයක් ලෙස, නෝර්වේ සිට පැමිණි ස්වේච්ඡා සේවක සිග්නාර් මහතාද ද මෙම වැඩසටහනට එක්විය.  

වැඩසටහන අවසානයේ, සියලු දෙනා පමුණුගම YMCA හි එක්ව දවල් ආහාරයක් භුක්ති විඳිමින් දිනය සාර්ථකව නිම කළහ. දිනය සාර්ථක කරගැනීම සඳහා ලිට්ල් රොමෙල් අරමුදල මඟින් අනුග්‍රහය ලබාදෙන ලදි. 

78 වන නිදහස් දින වැඩසටහන

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ 78 වන නිදහස් දිනය සමරමින්, පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය විසින් වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. මේ සඳහා ළමුන් 35 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී වූ අතර, ඊට මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසලේ ළමුන් 6 දෙනෙකු සහ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ ළමුන් 29 දෙනෙකු ඇතුළත් විය. මීට අමතරව කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ දෙමාපියන් කීප දෙනෙක්ද එක්ව සිටියහ. මීට අමතරව ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයෙකු වන නෝර්වේ සිට පැමුණ සිටින සින්ග්නා ක්‍රිස්ටෝෆෙර්සන් මහතාද සම්බන්ධ විය. මෙම උත්සවය පෙබරවාරි 04 වන දින පෙරවරුවේ, පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් පරිශ්‍රයේදී පැවැත්විය.

වැඩසටහන ජාතික ධජය ඔසවා ජාතික ගීය ගායනා කිරීමෙන් ආරම්භ වූ අතර, අනතුරුව නිදහස පිළිබඳ කෙටි අධ්‍යාපනික වීඩියෝවක් නරඹා ඒ පිළිබඳ කෙටි සාකච්ඡාවක් පැවැත්විණි. පසුව ළමුන් කණ්ඩායම් පහකට බෙදී, ශ්‍රී ලංකා සිතියම එකලස් කිරීමේ පසල් අභියෝගයකට සහභාගී විය. එමඟින් කණ්ඩායම් හැඟීම, එකමුතුකම සහ සහයෝගීත්වය වර්ධනය විය. ඉන් අනතුරුව දරුවන් ක්‍රියාදාම ගීත දෙකට සම්බන්ධවීමෙන් පසු සියළු දෙනා එක්ව අයිස් ක්‍රීම‍යක රස බැලීය.

මින් අනතුරුව පැවැතියේ කණ්ඩායමක් ලෙස එක්ව චිත්‍රයක් ඇඳීමයි.  එහිදී ඔවුන් නිදහස පිළිබඳව ඔවුන්ට ඇති සිතුවුළි වර්ණවත් සිතුවමක් ලෙස කණ්ඩායම් සිතුවමක් බවට පත්කරන ලදි. 

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නිදහස සිහිපත් කරමින්, ළමුන් අතර මිතුරත්වය, අන්තර්කරණය සහ එකමුතුබව වර්ධනය කළ මෙය වැඩසටහන මතක රැඳෙන දිනක් වනු ඇත.

78th Independence Day Celebration at YMCA of Pamunugama

The YMCA of Pamunugama organized a special event to mark the 78th Independence Day of Sri Lanka, bringing together children, staff, volunteers, and parents in a meaningful celebration. Event was held on 04 February morning at the YMCA of Pamunugama. 

The programme began with hoisting the national flag and singing the National Anthem, followed by a short educational video on independence and a brief discussion. Children then took part in a group puzzle challenge, where five groups worked together to assemble the map of Sri Lanka, promoting teamwork and cooperation.

A total of 35 children attended the event, including 6 children from Makalause Dream School and 29 from the YMCA of Pamunugama Scout Group. The celebration continued with action songs and dancing, after which the children enjoyed ice cream.

As a creative activity, the children worked in groups to create team paintings expressing what independence means to them, resulting in colourful and meaningful artworks. Then they had lunch together. 

The event was attended by YMCA staff, Makalause Dream School staff, parents, and Signa, a volunteer from Norway. It was a memorable day of remembering independence while strengthening friendship, inclusiveness, and unity among the children.

NCYSL තරුණ පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් (LS1 සහ Y Media) සඳහා පමුණුගම තරුණයන්ගේ සහභාගීත්වය

ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාව (NCYSL) විසින් “Be Your Best, Live Your Best” යන තේමාව යටතේ 2026 වර්ෂය පුරා ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන තරුණ පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් මාලාවක් සංවිධානය කර ඇත. මෙම වැඩසටහන් මඟින් YMCA තරුණ තරුණින්ගේ ප්‍රායෝගික කුසලතා සහ නායකත්ව හැකියාවන් වර්ධනය කිරීම ප්‍රධාන අරමුණ වේ.

මෙම ජාතික පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් මාලාව සඳහා පමුණුගම YMCA නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණ තරුණියන් 20 දෙනෙකු ලියාපදිංචි වී ඇති අතර, වැඩිම ප්‍රමාණයක් ලියාපදිංචි වූ තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් වලින් එකකි. 

පළමු පුහුණු වැඩසටහන, LS1 නමින්, 2026 ජනවාරි 17 වැනි දින කොල්ලුපිටිය, ශාන්ත මයිකල් දේවස්ථාන ශාලාවේ පැවැත්විය. මෙම පුහුණුවේදී ජල ආරක්ෂාව සහ CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) පිළිබඳ අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ජීවිත රැක ගැනීමේ දැනුම සහ ප්‍රායෝගික කුසලතා ලබා දෙන ලදී. මෙම පුහුණුව සඳහා පමුණුගම YMCA නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණයන් 6 දෙනෙකු සහභාගී විය.

දෙවන පුහුණු වැඩසටහන, Y Media, පුහුණුව විය. Zoom මඟින් පැවැත්වූ මාර්ගගත සැසි තුනක් ලෙස 2026 ජනවාරි 21, 28 සහ 31 දිනවල මෙම වැඩසටහන පවැත්වින. මෙම පුහුණුව මඟින් මූලික ඡායාරූපකරණය සහ ජංගම දුරකථන ඡායාරූපකරණය පිළිබඳ දැනුම ලබා දෙන ලදී. එහිදී රූප සැකසුම, ආලෝකය භාවිතා කිරීම සහ ජංගම දුරකථන භාවිතයෙන් මාධ්‍ය කරණය පිළිබඳ අවබෝධයක්  ලබාදෙන ලදි. 

මෙවැනි පුහුණු වැඩසටහන් මඟින් පමුණුගම YMCA තරුණයන්ගේ කුසලතා, විශ්වාසය සහ සමාජ වගකීම තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් වන බව අපි විශ්වාස කරමු. තරුණ තරුණියන් සඳහා 2026 වසර පුරාවට මෙවැනි පුහුණු අවස්ථා සලසා දීමට නායකත්වය ගත් ශ්‍රී ලංකා තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවට පමුණුගම YMCA සිය කෘතඥතාව පළ කරයි.

Pamunugama Youth Attend NCYSL Youth Trainings: LS1 and Y Media

The National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka (NCYSL) is organizing a series of youth trainings under the theme “Be Your Best, Live Your Best” throughout the year 2026, with the aim of equipping YMCA young people with practical skills, and leadership capacity.

A total of 20 youth from YMCA of Pamunugama have registered for this national training programme, making Pamunugama YMCA one of the YMCAs with the highest number of registered youth participants in the country. 

The first training, titled LS1, was held on 17th January 2026 at St. Michael’s Church Hall Kollpety. This session focused on Water Safety and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), providing essential life-saving knowledge and practical skills. Six youth from Pamunugama YMCA participated in this training, gaining valuable awareness that can be applied in real-life emergency situations.

The second training, Y Media, was conducted as a series of three online sessions via Zoom on 21st, 28th, and 31st January 2026. This programme focused on basic photography and mobile photography, helping youth understand visual storytelling, framing, lighting, and the effective use of mobile phones for media work. The training was especially relevant for youth involved in documentation, social media, and communication activities within their YMCA and communities. 7 youth from Pamunugama attended this training. 

Through these trainings, Pamunugama YMCA youth continue to strengthen their skills, confidence, and sense of responsibility. YMCA of Pamunugama extends gratitude to NCYSL for taking leadership to provide these training opportunities for young people in local YMCAs.
