The proceedings commenced with a spiritual reflection led by Maleesha Perera and Shinesh Nonis, representing the Youth Club. During the reflection, they emphasized the importance of creating a spiritual environment within all YMCA activities, allowing everyone involved to enter through the "Door of Christ." Furthermore, the significance of performing all services of the association for the glory of God was highlighted. Subsequently, a special prayer was offered to commemorate the members of the association who passed away during the year 2025.
The meeting saw the presentation of progress reports and financial statements covering the past year's initiatives. These included activities of the Children and Scouts sections, pre-school operations, youth programs, development projects of the Makalause Dream School, international programs, Christian mission work, and educational and environmental initiatives. Reports were also presented on training sessions conducted to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and disaster response programs.
Additionally, Jacintha Peiris, Nirma Senasi, Roshan Fernando, Minada Santhuja, Shinesh Hirusha, and Isuru Peiris were elected as members of the Board of Directors for the upcoming term. The approval of strategic plans for the ensuing year was also successfully carried out during the General Meeting.
