The YMCA of Pamunugama organized a BP Day programme on 22nd February 2025 at the YMCA premises. The event was held to remember Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement, and to celebrate the values of Scouting.
A total of 50 Scouts including 27 YMCA Scouts, 10 Scouts from Makalause Dream School, and 13 volunteers and parents parents, took part in the event. The programme started with a Rally, where the Scouts remembered Lord Baden-Powell and the beginning of Scouting.
The Scouts had a fun and eventful day. They made roti on an open fire, which was an exciting experience for many. They also played games, which helped them build teamwork, friendship and disability inclusion. Later, they watched a movie, which was entertaining. Another special activity was the peace painting, where the Scouts expressed their thoughts on peace through art.
The day was filled with happiness, learning, and teamwork. The Scouts and volunteers enjoyed every moment and took home wonderful memories.
