25 children, together with 4 youth leaders, took part in the event. Along with singing carols, they also gave away small gifts to the homes, sharing love and kindness during the Christmas season.
සුපුරුදු පරිදි මේ වසරේ ද පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ දරුවන් කැරොල් ගායනා කරමින් දෙසැම්බර් මස 22 වන දින සවස් වරුවේ ගම වටා සංචාරය කරන ලදි.
මේ සඳහා බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් 25 දෙනෙකු සහ තරුණ නායක නායිකාවන් 4 දෙනෙකු සම්බන්ධ විය.
මෙහිදී මාකලෝසා සිහින පාසල, පෙර පාසල සහ බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ දරුවන් 50 ක් පමණ තම හැකියාවන් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලදි. ඉතා වර්ණවත් සහ විචිත්රවත් රංගන සහ නර්ථන අංගයන් 12 කින් ප්රසංගය සමන්විත වූ අතර පැය එකහමාරකට ආසන්න කාලයක් පුරාවටම සහභාගීවූවන් අමන්දානන්දයට පත් කරන ලදි.
මේය නැරඹීමට ගම්වාසීන් සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන්, අසල්වාසීන් සහ දෙමාපියන් ඇතුළු 200 කට අධික පිරිසක් සහභාහී විය.

Nearly 50 children representing the Makalosa Dream School, Pre-School, and Scout Group took part in the event.
The concert featured 12 colourful and vibrant performances, including dances and stage items, which entertained the audience for almost one and a half hours.
The programme was attended by more than 200 people, including villagers, YMCA members, neighbours, and parents.

Ridma Fonseka, General Secretary, was invited to attend this significant international event, representing the YMCA of Pamunugama. His participation highlighted the strong relationships between the YMCA of Pamunugama and its global friends.
These engagements provided valuable opportunities for dialogue, exchange of experiences. The centennial celebrations also provided a valuable opportunity for Ridma to meet and engage with YMCA leaders from around the world, including several National General Secretaries and the President of the World YMCA.
Overall, his participation in the centennial celebration was a meaningful experience that reinforced international collaborations. The YMCA of Pamunugama extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Peter Ho, General Secretary of the YMCA of Hong Kong, and the entire organizing team for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements.

Grounded in John 10:9 – “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved”, the conference focused on prayer, reflection, worship, and mission renewal. A key symbolic moment of the gathering was the reaffirmation of the Paris Basis, with participants signing it again as a collective commitment to the Christian foundation of the YMCA.
There were 4 Keynote Sessions which led to discussions during the conference.
The conference reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, leadership development, and youth discipleship as essential pillars for strengthening and sustaining the YMCA Christian mission across Asia.

The Annual Christmas Gift Distribution sponsored by Australia’s Help Offense Now was held this year as well.
Two representatives from Help Offense Now, Board Member Isuru Peiris and General Secretary Ridma Fonseka, participated in the distribution and shared the joy of the Christmas season with the children.

At the end of the session, 12 parents who participated asked questions and received clear and helpful answers. The conference gave them confidence and hope, and many felt better prepared to support their children. It was truly a meaningful and fruitful day for the parents of Makalause children.

මුණුගම තරුණ ක්රිස්තියානි සංගමය
After lunch, the educational visits continued at the Peraliya Tsunami Museum. Here, participants learned about the scientific process behind tsunamis and the facts surrounding the 2004 disaster, as well as the history of the Peraliya train accident. The final destination was the Galle Fort, which the group visited at 5:00 PM. They spent time exploring the fort, learning about its historical significance and colonial past.
The group departed the fort at 6:30 PM, successfully concluding the tour and returning home by 9:15 PM. Overall, the trip was highly beneficial, providing important knowledge and enriching the participants' understanding of Sri Lanka's Buddhist and colonial history, the importance of nature conservation, and the nation's rich cultural heritage.

The team arrived at Pamunugama YMCA on the morning of 29 October and stayed until the following day. The YMCA of Pamunugama hosted the group and began the visit with a brief introduction to the YMCA and its community work in the area.
Then the delegation visited the Makalause Dream School, where they learned about the Disability Inclusion Project run by the YMCA of Pamunugama. They met the teachers, manager, and students, spending time together in meaningful interaction. The experience was touching and inspiring for both the visitors and the local community.
After lunch, the visitors were introduced to Kubb
, a community-building game promoted by the YMCA. Around 30 participants took part in the games — including 15 youth from Pamunugama YMCA, 6 from Negombo YMCA, and the visiting youth from India. The activity created a friendly and energetic atmosphere, helping the groups connect through teamwork and play.
The visit strengthened friendship and collaboration between YMCA youth of India and Sri Lanka, provided shared learning on YMCA activities and community engagement, and created new bonds through cultural and recreational exchange. It was a simple but meaningful experience that reflected the true spirit of the YMCA movement.
