Training on the Issues of people with disabilities - ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයන් මුහුනදෙන ගැටලු පිළිබඳව ප්‍රජාව දැනුවත් කිරීම

YMCA of Pamunugama together with the Sri Lanka Welfare Society of the Blind have launched a new advocacy  project to safeguard the rights of the people with disabilities in Sri Lanka. Number of organizations representing CSOs, Youth Groups and DPOs have already agrees to work in collaboration in this project. Under this new project, a training programme was held on 14 January 2022 via zoom with a participation of over 50 representatives from Civil Society Organizations, Youth Groups and Organizations of people with disabilities. there were two main sessions in the training. 

During the first session Ms. Nisha Sherif, the President of Right for Us shared her views on the ground realities of people with disabilities in Sri Lanka. She educated the participants on the physical barriers that people with disabilities go through in their day today life as well as the attitudinal barriers. She further mentioned, the lack of education and awareness on disabilities and the exclusion of people with disabilities are the major reasons for the pathetic situation of people with disabilities in Sri Lanka. 

Second session was facilitated by Ms. Nilani Manthrinayake who is a lawyer working the the rights of the people with disabilities. During her session she educated the participants on practical challenges that people with disabilities go through in their day today life. She mentioned that, while we struggle to update the existing laws and regulations for the betterment of people with disabilities it is important to be aware on existing cover from law the people with disabilities so people can practice it to maximum level. 

Sharing views at the end participants mentioned that they the process already started should be carried forward and their organizations are committed till we reach our objective of creating a reasonable environment for the people with disabilities to have a dignified life.

තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය සහ ශ්‍රී ලංකා දෘශ්‍යාබාධිතයින්ගේ  සුභසාධක සංගමය එක්ව දියත් කොට ඇති ආබාධ සහිත පුද්ගලයින්ගේ  අයිතිවාසිකම් දිනා දිනාගැනීම සඳහා වූ බලපෑම් ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ආරම්භක පියවරක් ලෙස  සිවිල් ගැනීම සඳහා වූ  කණ්ඩායම් සහ ආබාධ සහිත පුරවැසියන් නියෝජනය කරන සංවිධාන නියෝජිතයන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩ වැඩසටහනක් 2022 ජනවාරි මස 14 වන දින zoom ඔස්සේ පැවැත්විණ. උදය වරුව පුරා පැවති මෙම වැඩ වැඩසටහන් ප්‍රධාන ඉදිරිපත්කිරීම් දෙකකින් සමන්විත වූ අතර ඒ  සඳහා පනස් දෙනෙකුට අධික පිරිසක් සහ සහභාගීව විය. 

වැඩසටහන් ආරම්භ කරමින් අයිතීන් උදෙසා අපි සංවිධානයේ සභාපතිනි නීෂා ෂෙරිෆ් මෙනවිය පළමු අදහස් දැක්වීම් සිදු කළ අතර එහිදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ආබාධිත සහිත පුරවැසියන් මුහුණ දෙන අභියෝග් සහ යථාර්ථය පිළිබඳව අදහස් ඉදිරිපත්පත් කරන ලදී. මෙහිදී ආබාධ සහිත පුරවැසියන් මුහුණ දෙන භෞතික සහ ශාරීරික  අභියෝග මෙන්ම  ආකල්පමය අභියෝග් පිළිබඳව ඇයිගේ අවධානය යොමු විය. ඉන් අනතුරුව පැවති සංවාදයේදී එක්ව සිටිති ආබාධ සහිත කණ්ඩායම් යෝජනය කරන සංවිධාන  නියෝජිතයන් විසින් තමන්ගෙ අත්දැකීම් අනුසාරයෙන් අදහස් ඉදිරිපත් කරමින් සංවාදය පෝෂණය කරන ලදී.

වැඩසටහනේ දෙවන ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම සිදු කරනු ලැබූවේ ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාව වෙනුවෙන් කටයුතු කරන නීතිඥ තුමියක වන නිලානි මන්ත්‍රීනායක මහත්මිය විසිනි.  ඇයගේ ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම අතරතුරදී ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාව මුහුණ දෙන ප්‍රායෝගික නීතිමය අභියෝගයන් පිළිබඳවව ඇය අදහස් දක්වන ලදී. විශේෂයෙන්ම දැනට පවතින ප්‍රතිපාදන අනුව ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාවට හිමිවී ඇති නීතිමය ආවරණය පිළිබඳව ඇය සහභාගි වී සිටි පිරිස් දැනුවත් කරන ලදී. 

අනාගතයේ දී ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාවගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් තහවුරු වන පරිදි පවතින නීති රෙගුලාසි සහ අණපනත් යාවත්කාලීන කර ගැනීම සඳහා වැඩ කටයුතු කරන අතරම, දැනට පවතින නීතිමය ප්‍රතිපාදනයන් පිළිබඳව ජනතාව තුළ  දැනුවත් භාවයක් ඇති කිරීම තුළින් පවතින තත්ත්වය තරමක් දුරට හෝ යහපත් අතට හැරවීමට හැකි වනු ඇතැයිී ඇයගේ අදහස් විය. 

වැඩසටහන් අවසානයේ සහභාගි වූ පිරිස් අදහස් දක්වමින් පවසා සිටියේ  අප දැනටමත් ආරම්භ කොට ඇති මෙම ක්‍රියාවලිය ඒකාබද්ධව ඉදිරියට ගෙන යා යුතු බවත් ඒ සඳහා තම සංවිධාන කැපවීමෙන් කටයුතු කරන බවත්ය. සිවිල් සංවිධාන සහ තරුණ ප්‍රජාව අදහස් දක්වමින් පවසා සිටියේ ප්‍රමාද වී හෝ මෙවැනි ක්‍රියාවලියකට දායක වීමට ලැබීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් තමන් සතුටු වන බවයි ඉදිරියේදී ආබාධ සහිත ප්‍රජාවගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් සහ ඒවාට අදාළ නීති තහවුරු කරගැනීම සඳහා සිවිල් සංවිධාන සහ වෙනත්  ප්‍රජා කොටස් එක්ව කටයුතු කිරීම ඉතා වැදගත් බවත් ය.
