Training for Children's Club Leaders
Pamunugama YMCA organized a one day training for children's club leaders at its premises on 24 - 25 June, 2017. 14 Children's Club Leaders (7 from Pamunugama , 6 from Dehiwela, 1 from Negombo) attended this training. During the training the leaders were equipped on the following areas by a well trained and experienced group of YMCA leaders including Roger Peiris, Aruna Nonis, Danuka Jauyamanne, Shelton Peiris and Ridma Fonseka.
- YMCA contribution to children's programmes in the past.
- Qualities of a children's club leader
- Indoor and outdoor games
- Campfire
- Christian mission in Children's Club activities
- Possibilities for special programmes for the children's club within the YMCA movement.
At the end of the programme, 3 YMCA groups agreed to work together to continue similar and more advanced training in the future and to conduct more programmes for children in the future. Pamunugama YMCA thank all the trainers for their valuable contribution and Dehiwala YMCA, Negombo YMCA for their participation in the programme.
