Asker YMCA YWCA Scouts Scholarship Fund begins

Asker YMCA YWCA Scouts Scholarship Fund is an extend of the long standing friendship between Pamunugama YMCA and the YMCA YWCA Scouts of Asker group. As a result of a discussion between Pamunugama YMCA and Scout leader Pute of Asker Scouts during the visit in Easter 2017, this new project was initiated. Objective of this project is to support needy students in the area with their education. 

Project was launched on 08 June 2017 at the YMCA of Pamunugama. At the first phase, 4 Advanced Level students are receiving monthly scholarship of Rs 2,250/= through this project to cover their educational expenses. 

Both Mr. Pute and Mr. Rolf of Asker YMCA YWCA scouts also joined the first scholarship award session through skype and wished the students for their future and education. Mr. Pute addressing the students and parents on skype mentioned that he and Asker Scouts are happy about the opportunity to support this worthy project and he further mentioned that education is very important for a better future. Mr. Nimantha, president of Pamunugama YMCA also wished students and urged the students to make full use of this support.

At the end, one mother speaking on behalf of all mentioned that they are thankful to Asker Scouts for their generous support and Pamunugama YMCA for coordination this project. Further, she mentioned that they will take this support as a responsibility, but not as a grant to ensure that their children will benefit from this support.
