රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බෙර්ග් මහතාගේ පමුණුගම සංචාරය

අස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ නායක රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බෙර්ග්  මහතා ජුලි මස 18 සිට 23 දක්වා පමුණුගම සංචාරයක නිරත විය. වර්ෂ 2000 ආරම්භයත් සමගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම්  සඳහා බාලදක්ෂ වැඩ වැඩසටහන් හඳුන්වා දුන් සමයේ සිටම ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සමඟ ඉතා සමීපව කටයුතු කර පුද්ගලයෙකි.  විශේෂයෙන් 2004 වසරේ සිට පමුණුගම සහ නෝර්වේහී ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂිකා කණ්ඩායම් දෙක අතර පවතින මිතුදමේ ප්‍රධාන පුරුක වන්නේද රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බෙර්ග් මහතාය.

රොල්ෆ් මහතා පමුණුගම ගතකළ කාලය අතරතුරදී ඔහුගේ සමීපතම මිතුරන්  මෙන්ම පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ සාමාජික සාමාජිකාවන්ද මුණ ගැසිණ. ජූලි මස 23 වන දින පැවති බාලදක්ෂ රැස්වීම්  සඳහාද සහභාගී වූ අතර එහිදී බාලදක්ෂයන් සහ නායක නායිකාවන් මුනණගැසී ඔවුන් සමඟ ද සුහද පිළිසඳරක සහභාගිවෙමින් දිරිගන්වන ලදී. ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායමේ සහ මියුනිච් තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ අනුග්‍රහයෙන්හයෙන් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන ප්‍රජා මුළු මුළුතැන්ගෙය වැඩසටහනද ඒ මහතාගේ නිරීක්ෂණයට ලක් වූ අතර බාලදක්ෂ බාලදක්ෂිකාවන් සමඟ දිවා ආහාරයද එක්ව ලබා ගන්නා ලදී. 

මීට අමතරව තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් ජාතික සභාවේ වැඩ බලන ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් සමග රැස්වීම්කට එක්වූ ඒ මහතා ඉදිරියේ දී ජාතික වශයෙන් වැඩසටහන් ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා ඇති ඉඩකඩ පිළිබඳවද සංවාදයක යෙදෙින.

පමුණුගම සහ ඇස්කර් කණ්ඩායම් දෙක අතර පවතින සබඳතාවය තවදුරටත් වර්ධනය කරගැනීමට මෙම සංචාරයෙන් හැකිවූ අතර ඉදිරියේදී හැකි සෑම අයුරකින්මම එක්ව ළමා සහ තරුණ ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා කටයුතු කිරීමට දෙපාර්ශවයම එකඟ විය. වසර ගණනාවක් පුරාවට පමුණුගම බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායම ඇතුළු විවිධ කොටස් කෙරෙහි රොල්ෆ් ෆැල්කන්බෙර්ග්  මහතා ඇතුළු  ඇස්කර් බාලදක්ෂ කණ්ඩායම දක්වන්නාවූ සහයෝගය වෙනුවෙන් පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ ප්‍රණාමය.

Rolf Falchenberg's Visit to the YMCA of Pamunugama, Sri Lanka

The YMCA of Pamunugama recently had the honor of hosting a very special guest, Rolf Falchenberg, the leader of YMCA YWCA Scouts of Asker in Norway. Rolf's connection with Sri Lanka dates back to the early days of Scouting establishment in the Sri Lanka YMCA in 2002 - 2003, and over the years, he has become an integral part of the YMCA family in Pamunugama. His recent visit from 18th to 23rd July was marked by heartfelt reunions, productive discussions, and a shared commitment to furthering the partnership between YMCA YWCA Scouts of Asker and YMCA Scouts of Pamunugama YMCA.

Rolf Falchenberg played a crucial role in the inception of Scouting in Sri Lanka, offering invaluable support from the YMCA YWCA Scouts of Norway. His dedication and passion for youth development have left a lasting impact on the YMCA movement in Pamunugama and beyond. Rolf's initial visit laid the foundation for a strong bond that continues to grow stronger with each passing year.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, Rolf revisited his friends in Pamunugama, renewing cherished connections and sharing stories of their journey together in Scouting. He also spent time with the  staff of the YMCA, gaining insights into the various programs that have have been running with the support of volunteers.

On 23 July morning Rolf attended a scout meeting and spent time with the scouts, inspiring and encouraging them to keep going. At the meeting, a new scout also had the honor of receiving his Scout Membership badge. Rolf's presence and support mean a lot to the scouts and scout leaders, motivating them to continue their journey with enthusiasm.

During his time with the scouts he also witnessed the Community Kitchen project run by the YMCA of Pamunugama. This initiative, made possible with financial support from Rolf's Scout group in Norway, together with the YMCA of Munich, showcases the spirit of international collaboration and a shared vision of empowering local communities. The Community Kitchen project aims to provide nutritious meals to those in need, specially among those who attend the Scouting Programmes on Saturdays.

He also met with the Acting National General Secretary of the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka to discuss the prospects of reconnecting the Sri Lanka YMCA movement with the Norwegian YMCA YWCA Scouts at the national level. These discussions hold the promise of an even stronger bond between the two nations and a more profound impact on the youth of both countries.

On July 23rd, Rolf had a farewell dinner with his close friends and well-wishers. They thanked him for his support and friendship throughout the years, and everyone had a joyful time sharing stories and memories. Rolf means a lot to the YMCA of Pamunugama.

Rolf Falchenberg's visit to the YMCA of Pamunugama was a celebration of friendship, partnership, and shared values. His continuous dedication to the betterment of the YMCA of Pamunugama  and his unwavering support for local initiatives have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those he touched. 

Medical Camp - වෛද්‍ය සායනය

In a display of commitment to the YMCA Vision 2030, the YMCA of Pamunugama, in collaboration with the Government Hospital, organized a free medical camp that left a positive impact on the local community's wellbeing. The event, held on 15 July at the YMCA main hall, saw around 70 villagers benefiting from essential medical services and support.

Community Wellbeing is one of the four pillars of the YMCA Vision 2030.

YMCA දැක්ම 2030 හී ප්‍රධාන අංගයක් වන ප්‍රජා යහපැවැත්ම ගොඩනැගීම සඳහා වූ පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ කැපවීම ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරමින්, පමුණුගම රජයේ රෝහල සමඟ එක්ව ප්‍රදේශයේ ප්‍රජාව වෙනුවෙන් වෛද්‍ය සායනයක් පවත්වන ලදී. ජුලි 15 වැනි දින YMCA ප්‍රධාන ශාලාවේදී පැවති මෙම සායනයට ගම්වාසීන් 70 ක් පමණ සහභාගිී විය.

සනීපාරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ අභියෝග විසඳීම

කාන්තා සවිබල ගැන්වීම ප්‍රවර්ධනය කිරීම සහ ඔසප් සනීපාරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ අභියෝග විසඳීම සඳහා පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය විසින් ඩෙන්මාර්කයේ ශාන්ත ජෝර්ජ් බාලදක්ෂ ගිල්ඩ් සමඟ එක්ව දින දෙකක වැඩසටහනක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. නැවත භාවිත කළ හැකි සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා බෙදා හැරීම සහ ඒවායේ භාවිතය පිළිබඳව ගැහැණු ළමයින් දැනුවත් කිරීම කෙරෙහි මෙම වැඩසටහනේ අවධානය යොමු වූ අතර යහපත් සනීපාරක්ෂක පිළිවෙත් පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීමක් ද සිදු විය. 

2023 ජූනි 20 වැනි දින අලගොල්ලෑව ශාන්ත අන්තෝනි විද්‍යාලය පළමු වැඩසටහන පැවැත්විණ. පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ නියෝජිත කණ්ඩායම, ඩෙන්මාර්කයේ ශාන්ත ජෝර්ජ් බාලදක්ෂ ගිල්ඩ් වෙතින් ලද නොමසුරු අනුග්‍රහය ඇතිව, ශාන්ත අන්තෝනි විද්‍යාලයේ දැරියන් සඳහා නැවත භාවිත කළ හැකි සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා 100ක් ලබා දීම සිදුවිය. ඔසප් සනීපාරක්ෂාව කළමනාකරණය සඳහා වූ මෙම වැඩසටහන් සඳහා පාසලේ විදුහල්පති, ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ සිසුන්ගේ සහයෝගය ලැබුණි.

දෙවන වැඩසටහන පැවැත්වූයේ හොරොව්පොතාන රුවන්වැලි ජාතික පාසලේ සිසු සිසුවියන් සිය දෙනෙකු සඳහා ය. එහිදී ද  සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා 100ක් බෙදා දෙන ලදී. එම වැඩසටහනද සාර්ථක කර ගැනීම සඳහා විදුහල්පතිවරයා ඇතුළු ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය පූර්ණ සහයෝගය ලබා දුන්නේය.

වැඩසටහනේ ප්‍රධාන අංගයක් වූයේ ගැහැණු ළමයින් සඳහා දැනුවත් කිරීමේ සැසියක් පැවැත්වීමයි. මෙමගින් නැවත භාවිත කළ හැකි සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා නිසි ලෙස භාවිත කරන ආකාරය ඔවුන්ට කියා දුන්නා පමණක් නොව යහපත් සනීපාරක්ෂක පිළිවෙත්වල වැදගත්කම ද අවධාරණය කෙරිණි. 

මෙම වැඩ වැඩසටහන් සංවිධානයකි කිරීමේදී ඩෙන්මාර්කයේ ශාන්ත ජෝර්ජ් බාලදක්ෂ ගිල්ඩ් වෙනුවෙන් මූලිකත්වය ගනු ලැබුයේ ගිත්තෙ ස්ටෙහර් මහත්මියයි.  ඇයට පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ කෘතඥතාව පුද කිරීමට කැමැත්තෙමු. 

ඉදිරි සතිවලදී පසු විපරම් ඇගයීම් හරහා වැඩසටහනේ සාර්ථකත්වය සමීපව නිරීක්ෂණය කරනු ඇත. ගැහැණු ළමයින්ගේ ඔසප් සනීපාරක්ෂාව සහ කාන්තාවන්ගේ යහපැවැත්ම අගය කරන සහ ප්‍රවර්ධනය කරන සමාජයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය කැපවී සිටී. එහි එක් පියවරක් ලෙස ඔසප් සෞඛ්‍යය වටා ඇති බාධක බිඳ දමා ගැහැණු දරුවන්ගේ සම්පූර්ණ හැකියාවන් කරා ළඟා වීමට ඔවුන් බල ගැන්වීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කෙරිණ. 

Sanitary Pad Distribution Program Empowers Girls in Sri Lanka

In an effort to promote female empowerment and address menstrual hygiene challenges, the YMCA of Pamunugama recently organized a two-day program in collaboration with St. George Scout Gild in Denmark. The program focused on distributing reusable sanitary pads and educating girls on their usage, while also imparting valuable lessons on good hygiene practices. The initiative was a resounding success, with 200 reusable sanitary pads being distributed across two schools in Sri Lanka.

On June 20, 2023, St. Antony's Vidyalaya in Alagollewa became the venue for the first program. The dedicated team from YMCA, along with the generous sponsorship from St. George Scout Gild in Denmark, ensured that 100 reusable sanitary pads were provided to the girls at St. Antony's Vidyalaya. This crucial step towards menstrual hygiene management was met with overwhelming support from the school's principal, staff, and students.

Continuing their efforts, the YMCA team extended the program to Ruwanweli National School in Horowpothana on June 21, 2023. An additional 100 reusable sanitary pads were distributed, further spreading awareness and empowering the girls in this rural area. The program at Ruwanweli National School was equally well-received, with the principal and staff lending their full support to make the initiative a success.

A key aspect of the program was the educational sessions conducted for the girls. These sessions not only taught them how to properly use reusable sanitary pads but also emphasized the importance of good hygiene practices. By imparting practical knowledge and guidance, the girls were equipped with the necessary tools to manage their menstrual health confidently and comfortably.

The YMCA of Pamunugama, would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Ms. Gitte Staehr for her invaluable coordination efforts. Her support and collaboration were instrumental in making this initiative possible, fostering an international partnership focused on improving the lives of girls in Sri Lanka.

Looking ahead, the success of the program will be closely monitored through follow-up assessments in the coming weeks. This evaluation will help gauge the impact of the initiative and provide insights for future endeavours. The YMCA remains committed to ensuring the continued support and empowerment of girls, as they strive to create a society that values and promotes menstrual hygiene and the well-being of women. Through such initiatives, we can break the barriers surrounding menstrual health and empower girls to reach their full potential, unencumbered by the challenges they face.

179 වන තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගම් දින සැමරුම

ජුනි 6 වන දිනට යෙදී ඇති YMCA ව්‍යාපාරයේ 179 වන සංවත්සරය පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය විසින් ප්‍රීතියෙන් සමරන ලද අතර, එම අවස්ථාවට ළමුන් 40 ක්, තරුණ නායකයින්, කාර්ය මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් සහ පමුණුගම YMCA හි සභාපතිවරයා සහභාගී විය.

මෙම සුවිශේෂී දිනය නිමිත්තෙන් YMCA සංවිධානයේ ලාංඡනයෙන් සරසා තිබූ කේක් ගෙඩියක් කපා වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කළේය. මෙම වැදගත් අවස්ථාව YMCA හි දිගුකාලීන ඉතිහාසය සිහිපත් කිරීමටද අවසතාවක් කරගන්නා ලදි. කේක් කැපීමේ උත්සවයෙන් අනතුරුව සහභාගී වූවන් පමුණුගම YMCA හි ආදර්ශ ගොවිපළේදී ශ්‍රමදානයක් සිදුකෙරින. එහිදී සියළු දෙනා එකතුව නව පාත්තියක් ගොවිපළ වෙත එක් කරන ලදි.
