The postponed World Children’s Day trip, originally delayed due to poor conditions, was successfully held on October 19. Twenty-five scouts from the YMCA of Pamunugama, along with eight children from the Makalause and Dream School, participated in this memorable outing. They were accompanied by four staff members and six youth club members who joined in to offer their support.
The group set off at six in the morning, with their first destination being the Dehiwala National Zoo. The children spent the morning exploring and watching a variety of animals, fish, and birds. After enjoying lunch at the Zoo, they proceeded to visit the historic Gangaramaya Temple.
The rest of the evening was spent relaxing at Viharamahadevi Park and Galle Face Green, where the children had a chance to unwind and bond.Throughout the day, the children experienced new sights, shared joyful moments, and strengthened friendships. As part of its mission, the YMCA of Pamunugama continually strives to enrich the lives of young people by offering them opportunities to explore the world beyond their regular surroundings.
