Even with rising number of Covid deaths and infected people, Government of Sri Lanka has decided to reopened almost all the sectors except the education. There are continuous discussions going on on the matter and expected to see a gradual start. In the Sri Lankan context, assuring the safety of students within a class room will be challenging and a special programme will be a necessity.
In order to prepare for the above challenge the Collective for specially abled organized a brainstorming session for the teachers of the schools attached to the collective on 29 July, 2021. Event was held at the YMCA of Pamunugama with the participation of 7 students from YMCA Makalause Dream School, Santosa Foundation and Devine Care Training Center.
During the programme teachers shares thoughts, experiences and listed the safety measures to be followed when restart the regular school activities. YMCA of Pamunugama hosted the programme.
