Congratulations to the New President of NCYSL

Mr. Nirmal Fonseka - New President of NCY

Annual General Meeting of the National Council of the YMCAs of Sri Lanka was held on 28 May, 2016 at the YMCA of Jaffna Main Hall. This year more than 20 YMCAs attended the meeting and 16 YMCAs out of the attended were qualified to participate fully in the meeting.

06 delegates including President, General Secretary, Exco Member and 3 delegates from Pamunugama YMCA attended the AGM. Mr. Nirmal De Fonseka was unanimously elected as the President of the NCYSL and the new Executive Committee was appointed with representation of outstation YMCAs covering the entire island.

YMCA of Pamunugama consider this change in the movement as positive move and believe that the justice, equality, and good governance will be restored after a era of undemocratic governance for 3 years in the National Movement which effected the YMCA movement in Sri Lanka negatively. We wish Mr. Nirmal De Fonseka for his appointment and assure fullest cooperation in rebuilding the movement back to where it was.
