On March 16, 2024, the YMCA of Pamunugama hosted a Awareness Program on usage of plastic, its negative impact and how to manage waste, engaging 35 participants, including scouts and YMCA leaders.
Children were empowered with practical knowledge and encouraged to envision their role in a greener future. Discussions included the potential establishment of a collection center for recyclable materials like plastic.
