Pamunugama YMCA comes to the Cricket field with young People

Pamunugama YMCA organised a Six a Side Cricket Tournament for the youth teams in the area on 26 February, 2017 at Dungalpitiya Public Ground. 11 teams representing Pamunugama, Dungalpitiya, Thalahena, Negombo, Delathura and Katunayake areas participated the Tournament held through out the day. 10 matches were played during the day and the overcast gloomy conditions made things much easier for the players to stay in the ground without much troubles from the burning sun. 

Katunayake All Rounders were the victories team of the tournament claiming the trophy for the winning team while the Super Six team from Thalahena grabbed the trophy for runners-up. Winners were also awarded with cash prices. Thushara from Katunayake All Rounders team won a special award for his match winning performances in the final game.

Sunnfjord folk high school students at Pamunugama YMCA

10 students attached to the Sunnfjord Folk High School in Farde, Norway are currently at Pamunugama.

They joined a boat trip organized by the YMCA on 24th February. Today (25th February) they spent time with the Children's Club at the YMCA of Pamunugama playing games and getting to know each other. On 26th February, YMCA of Pamunugama organize a Crucket tournament and the grpup will join the event.

More events by Munich and Pamunugama YMCAs together

Munich Youth and Pamunugama kids together
Beach Cleaning Programme was conducted by the Mission Programme participants of Munich YMCA and Pamunugama. Programme was organized to clean-up the beach of Seththappaduwa. Around 30 Pamunugama YMCA youth and kids and 10 Munich YMCA Mission Programme youth took place in the event held on 18 February, 2017. Event participants were able to collect a tractor full of garbage from the Pamunugama beach within an hour.

Later in the evening a movie "Machang" was screened. Then youth from both groups had a dancing session together at the YMCA of Pamunugama Main Hall.

German- Sri Lanka joint Cultural Night

German- Sri Lanka joint Cultural Night was held last night (16.02.2017)at Pamunugama YMCA. Youth members of Munich and Pamunugama performed their own cultural items and also - what they learned from each others in front of fully packed audience. Mr. Nirmal De Fonseka, President, NCY graced the event as chief guest.

Volleyball Tournament held at the YMCA under flood lights

YMCA of Pamunugama organised a Volleyball Tournament under flood lights on 14 February, 2017 at the YMCA of Pamunugama Volleyball Court. Munich YMCA Mission programme youth leaders also joined the Pamunugama YMCA in organising the event. 

7 teams from Seththappaduwa participated the Tournament. Team St. Antony's won the cup and the team represented YMCA were the runners up. At the end of the programme Pamunugama YMCA youth and Munich YMCA Youth leaders had a short reflection on life goals and the race we have to run every day in our lives seeking the goal of internal life in Christ. 

Pamunugama YMCA thank all the youth who helped in organizing the event and the 7 teams for participating the tournament.

Christian Mission Youth Leadership Programme Ends with Success

Christian Youth Leadership Camp was concluded from 10 - 12 February, 2017 at the YMCA of Pamunugama. This three days camp was facilitated by youth leaders of Munich, Germany and Selam India YMCA.

The inputs made by facilitators helped the youth members in Pamunugama to get closer to Lord Jesus and motivated them to read the Holy Bible. Munich YMCA gifted a Bible to Youth members of Pamunugama.

The participants thanked the organizers and facilitators for organising and conducting such a Spirtitual programme which made a great difference in their lives...

Youth for Christian Mission Leadership Training Begins

Christian Leadership Programme organized by the YMCA of Pamunugama together with YMCA Munich and Salem began today evening with a participation of 17 local youth and leaders, 10 Munich Youth leaders and 2 leaders from Salem YMCA. Programme started with a small welcome ceremony and participants had the chance to get to know each other through few games. Later participants had small group discussions sharing their expectations and day ended with having dinner together.

YMCA Christian Mission Group Meets with different YMCAs and Buddhist Community

Youth visiting from Munich YMCA visited a community in Ilukkumbura in Matale District from 06-08 February 2017. 5 youth members of Pamunugama YMCA also joined the visit. During the visit group spent time with a family in the village having local food and experiencing the local culture. Meanwhile group had a short hike to Manigala which is a rock bordering the village and had the chance of bathing in the cold water streams in the village. 

On 09th February group visited Colombo and had a meeting with the National President at the National Council of YMCAs of Sri Lanka as well as with the leadership of Colombo YMCA.

Youth Group from Munich YMCA arrived in Pamunugama for the Christian Mission Programme.

YMCA of Pamunugama and Munich are having a exchange programme currently in Sri Lanka. A group of 10 young people including two leaders (Martin and Lisa) are now in Pamunugama. 

They arrived on 4th February and will stay in Sri Lanka until 23rd February. During the stay they will spend time with young people of Pamunugama YMCA, visit few YMCAs and groups.They will also attend a work camp, leadership training programme and a cultural event with members of Pamunugama YMCA. 

Group spent the first two days in Pamunugama and also visited Negombo town and the YMCA of Negombo on 05 February. Group will leave for Atanwala in the Matale District to experience the Sri Lankan rural village experience.
