Global Week is an Annual International Leadership Training Programme held in Norway. It is organized by the Y Global, the international arm of the Norwegian YMCA WCA and Norwegian YMCA YWCA Scouts. Pamunugama YMCA also had the opportunity to send young people for this event for number of years.
With the challenges of Covid 19, this year programme was held online on Zoom. Over 50 participants attended the event covering many parts of the world including Asia, Africa and Europe. 6 young people from Pamunugama YMCA also took part in this years programme held from 17 - 19 November 2020.
During the three days number of contemporary topics such as Global Justice, Enviorenmental Justice, Youth Participation, Covid 19 related Challenges were discussed. Number of experties from Norway and YMCA family in Africa, Asia and Middle East contributed. Even though it was a virtual experience, the young people attended the event had an opportunity to learn and to build up new relationships with the international YMCA family.
YMCA of Pamunugama thank Y global for their invitation and the opportunity extended to Pamunugama YMCA to join this wonderful international event.
