වංගෙඩිගල, වංගෙඩිකන්ද, සහ බලතුඩුව තරණය කළ පමුණුගම තරුණයින්

පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමයේ තරුණ හවුල සහ කාර්ය මණඩලය ඇතුළු 12 දෙනෙකුන් යුත් කණ්ඩායමක් පෙබරවාරි මස 22 - 25 යන දියනන්හී කලුපහන ප්‍රදේශයෙන් ආරම්භ කොට වංගෙඩිගල, වංගෙඩිකන්ද, සහ බලතුඩුව යන කඳු මුදුන් වෙත පාගමනක එක්විය. එහිදී රාත්‍රී දෙකක් වනය තුළ කඳවුරු බඳිනා ලදි. 

මෙම ගමන ශාරීරිකව මෙන්ම මානසිකව ද අභියෝගාත්මක වූයේ එම ගමනෙහි තිබූ අපහසුතා මට්ටම නිසයි. මෙම ගමන හරහා කණ්ඩායම තුළ තිබූ කණ්ඩායම් හැඟීම වර්ධනය වීම මෙන්ම අභියෝග වලට එක්ව මුහුණ දීම සඳහා හොඳ පෙරහුරුවක් විය..

ප්‍රථම රාත්‍රිය තරමක් වැසි සහිත මෙන්ම විටින් විට මීදුමෙන් කඳවුරු භූමිය වැසී තිබුනද බොහෝ අවස්ථාවන්හීදී ඉතා සුන්දර දර්ශන මවමින් බඹරකන්ද, ලංකා ඇල්ල මෙන්ම හෝටන් තැන්නද වංගෙඩිගල කඳුමුදුන මත තැනුණු කඳවුරු භූමියට දිස් විය. 

A Journey with YMCA of Pamunugama Youth Club: Hiking Amidst Nature's Splendor

From 23 - 25 February 2024, the YMCA of Pamunugama Youth Club went on a hiking expedition, braving the challenging terrain from Kalupahana doubled bridge to the peaks of Wangedigala, Wangedikanda, and Balathuduwa.

With 12 enthusiastic youths and staff members, the adventure unfolded amidst the beauty of Sri Lanka's wilderness. Despite encountering a rainy night and intermittent mist, group persevered, rewarded with breath-taking views of Bambarakanda Falls, Lanka Ella, and Hortain Plains from the mountain peaks.

The journey tested the physical endurance and mental resilience, but also forged lasting bonds around as everyone shared laughter, stories, and meals cooked.

As the group descended from the heights on the final day, they carried cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for the transformative power of nature and the joy of shared experiences.

පාරිසරික ආරක්ෂකයින් සඳහා පුහුණුවක් Workshop for Environmental Defenders

පරිසර යුක්ති කේන්ද්‍රය විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබූ පාරිසරික මානව අරක්ෂකයන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ පුහුණු වැඩමුළුව 2024 ජනවාරි 23 සහ 24 යන දිනයහීදී කපුන්ගොඩ අමලූනා හෝටලයේදී පැවැත්වින. 

මෙම වැඩසටහනේ මූලික අරමුණ වූයේ පරිසර ක්‍රියාකාරීන් විවිධ කටයුතු සඳහා මැදිහත්වීමේදී අවධානය යොමුවිය යුතු නීතිමය කාරණා පිළිබඳව දැනුවත් කිරීමයි. එමෙන්ම මුතුරාජවෙල පරිසර පද්ධතිය සහ ඊට යාබද මීගමු කළපුව පිළිබඳවද සංවාද කීපයක් පැවති අතර සහභාගීවූ කණ්ඩායම ක්‍රියාකාරී කණ්ඩායමක් ලෙස සංවිධානය කිරීමද මෙම වැඩසටහන හරහා සිදු විය. 

මේ සඳහා කණ්ඩායම් කීපයක් නියෝජනය කරමින් 18 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් පරිසර ක්‍රියාකාරීන් පිරිසක් සම්බන්ධ විය. පරිසර ක්‍රියාදර දිනූෂ නානායක්කාර මහතාගේ සම්බන්ධීකරණයෙන් පමුණුගම තරුණ ක්‍රිස්තියානි සංගමය නියෝජනය කරමින් තරුණ තරුණියන් තිදෙනෙකු සහ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම්ද ඊට සහභාගී විය. 

The Center for Environmental Justice organized a training workshop on January 23 and 24, 2024, at Amaluna Hotel at Kapungoda, aimed at empowering environmental defenders. 

The program focuses on educating activists about legal considerations when engaging in environmental interventions. Additionally, discussions held on the current situation of  Muthurajawela ecosystem and the adjacent Negombo Lagoon. 

Eighteen environmental activists from various organizations attended the event. On an invitation from the environmental activist Mr. Dinusha Nanayakkara, three youths and the General Secretary from the YMCA of Pamunugama also attended the event.

නිදහස් දිනය සැමරූ සංගමයේ දරුවන් 76th Independence Day Celebration

76 වන නිදහස් දිනය සැමරීම සඳහා සංගමයේ බාලදක්ෂ දක්ෂිකාවන් 2024 පෙබරවාරි මස 04 වන දින සංගම් භූමියේ දී රැස්වින. ජාතික ධජය ඔසවා නිදහස පිළිබඳව කෙටි බෙදා ගැනීමක් බාලදක්ෂ නායකයෙකු විසින් සිදු කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව පාගමනින් බාලදක්ෂයින් සරක්කුව වෙරළ වෙත ගියහ. 

එහිදී ඔවීන් ක්‍රිඩා කරමින් සතූටින් කාලය ගත කළ අතර හිරු බැසයත්ම නිවෙස් බලා යන ලදි. මේ සඳහා නායක නායික්වන් ඇතුළු බාලදක්ෂයින් 30 දෙනෙකූ සහභාගි විය. 

On February 4, 2024, in honor of the 76th Independence Day, members of the Scout YMCA Scout Group gathered at the YMCA ground. Following the raising of the national flag and an speech on freedom delivered by one of the scout leaders, the group marched to Sarakkuwa Beach.

Once at the beach, scouts played Frisbee, Football and Volleyball. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, scouts headed home. In total, 30 scouts, led by their leaders, participated in this event.
