Youth Meeting with the Justice and Peace Committee

Group Discussion

Justice and Peace Committee (J&P Committee) leaders of the National Council of YMCAs met and discussed with 11 Youth from the Pamunugama YMCA along with 4 youth from Negombo YMCA . During this discussion it was agreed for a continues struggle at different levels for a just society. Economy, Environment, Just Peace and Democracy were identified as the areas for intervention.

Further it was discussed that the Peace Maker network could be a good platform to bring youth together from different parts of the country and globe. Pamunugama YMCA has planned its activities for ICY group this year based on the Peace Maker Concept where the focus will be on reconciliation in Sri Lanka. Several programmes including workshops, work-camps, Peace Tour, Seminars, Cultural and Sports Exchange has been planned to conduct along with few other YMCAs in various parts of the country.
